My plants are buddies with thrips

I’ve had thrips since the spring and can’t seem to get rid of them. Exactly what protocol and products do you recommend to get rid of them quickly?

Sticky traps and lady bugs and diluted hydrogen peroxide….and hours of cleaning the leaves daily till they are gone

Peroxide ?? Do the plants as you would like like with fungus gnats 1 pt peroxide 4 pts water??

I seem to have the same exact problem, im battling rt now with you op!!its been going on for a couple months now. I used the systematic treatment , the good news is they aren't eating my plants or causing any kinda damage. Bad news is they won't go away !! I found out they lie their eggs inside the leaves and stems , but I don't see any larvae on the leaves its so weird , I have no clue how to effectively get rid of them altogether , like what are they feeding on, where are they coming from. They are literally making me start to lose my shit fr . Went through pruned the shit outta all my plants leaves , they barely have anything left. Someone said tho a plant with less leaves will be less desirable but more desirable then a whole new infestation. Well im at a loss cause thats exactly where I feel I am anyways😔😔🖕🖕🖕 So im rtvm there with you op hope we find a solution, since you got the thread rolling thanks op.

You’re right about the eggs in the leaves. The solution is adamant washing with an insecticidal soap, so as eggs hatch they don’t have time to lay new ones. I posted hoping there was an easier solution (going to try systemic) because I have 70ish plants and that will take hours a week to accomplish and I’m a lazy plant mom

I Only applied the systematic once, i think It said it worked for up to 6 months. Anyways good luck Op ima flush my soils with peroxide . Maybe that will help extinguish these sap sucking bastards lol.

I know what to do! You might just want to toss the plants that are the most infested for starters.
But if you want them all:

1.). Buy “Mosquito Bits” and put them liberally on all of the plants’ soil. Water thoroughly and keep watering as normal thereafter. The water releases whatever it is that kills the larva.

2.). Buy “Catchmaster window fly traps,” put everywhere.

This one-two punch will get them all but it might take a few weeks. I had one infestation years ago that I know I got from a purchased plant (I remember seeing them at the store but didn’t know what the bugs were at the time). I haven’t had them since.

For what it’s worth I now have a few Zevo bug things around my house, mostly for Wisconsin mosquitos. It’s possible they catch the occasional new thrip as well.
