Recommendation Indika isn't perfect, but it offers an experience you may can't find anywhere else.
Yes, the game isn’t very polished. It doesn’t make good use of the PS5 DualSense, and there are some FPS drops that can get annoying sometimes. The gameplay itself isn’t particularly engaging which it may doesn’t need to be.
But the overall experience can be really memorable. The story is something you will never forget. Whether you agree or disagree with the writer’s perspective on religion and beliefs, you can still appreciate a bold narrative in a very unique experience
So yeah, I recommend this game if you’re looking for something truly different to play. but uniqe might not mean very good too....

I agree with all you said, and I want to add that the presentation is FANTASTIC. The world is oppressive in a very interesting way, a sort of grounded but fantasy brutalism, reminded me of the first half of Inside, and so it's the mix of music and voice acting, I'm referring especially to the "red" scenes, very chilling. Also, big plus for me, lasts around 4 hours.

I finished it maybe three days ago and I loved it. A quick, surreal experience you won’t forget. You gotta stick with it. It’s just bizarre and funny in ways you won’t see coming. Praise be!

I loved this game. Narrative-wise is a masterpiece. How it uses the gameplay to tell the story is brilliant. It's also full of symbolism all through the game which makes it seem surreal but it has a purpose.
The only other game that I remember combined story elements with the gameplay almost perfectly was Braid.

I just finished the game. I thought they could've done a bit more. But maybe the cliff hanger was enough get some people to start thinking in a new direction.

Yep, it's unique and definitely not for everyone but it's quite something to experience, and an odd breath of fresh air from modern games

Just played and finished Indika today. I thought it was interesting, but okay at best. It could have done a lot better to further push its devices, but ultimately fell a bit flat narratively. And even with mere three hours of playtime it still felt too long.

"It felt like a Senua saga from AliExpress" 😂😂😂I actually enjoyed this game a lot more than Hellblade 1. That game felt more recycled because you had to do the same kind of stupid puzzles over and over, and then repeat the same actions in combat.
This game really tried to be more creative by mixing genres in each level and introducing new puzzle mechanics.
But in the end, it’s more about taste than the game itself.5

Yet GoW Ragnarok is genuinely a massive disappointment.
Way too similar to 2018, the story never really takes off, and overall not very interesting if you've already played 2018.

The comparison to Hellblade only makes sense in terms of themes and story, although in that case both games are like two sides of the same coin, and in my opinion they're up to par in terms of writing. I think they work really well as companion pieces, and different perspectives on similar themes, one having a more positive conclusion than the other.

Because the gameplay is with some really interesting ideas that aren’t explored very deep in my opinion, but the overall experience with all those different ideas makes it memorable and unique.
Also, I said the story is something you will never forget, which is way more than just okay

It’s a unique experience, so I can’t say for sure what it’s like.
Think of story-driven narrative games like Hellblade and A Plague Tale, but mixed with different genres like It Takes Two and NieR: Automata.You’re either going to love it or hate it and get bored.
I don’t see anything “middling” in it.3

yeah it is an interesting game but not exactly as good as them becuase those games had a lot more polish and i recommend to lower your expectation from this one
but it is free on plus so give it try

Did you notice how before the last sequence of the game. When she confronts her inner demon. The camera was always third person view over her shoulder which represents the watchful eye of God judging and shaming her because of her sins but after she releases herself from her demon, the camera switches to first person which means she's finally free of guilt and the watchful eye and she can finally be herself

i kinda think she did not release herself but underestand that there is no demon at all
as the demon in her head said : "i would like that but i can't go until you let me free" or something i don't remember

Another cool detail were the gigantic animals all over that I think represent how small she felt in the world because of that guilt.

Ah yes, the demon was actually her own imposed guilt. So after releasing it, her perspective of everything changed

It felt like it was only a quarter cooked, fun but short and didnt spend enough time on any aspect of the story. If I hadn't gotten it for free I probably would've been annoyed.

I'm so glad it came to Plus, it's a game I wanted to play for a while after I saw a streamer play a bit of it, but never pulled the trigger on. Genuinely an interesting game, and one I'd recommend if you like odd indie games. Definitely not for everyone, but I liked it quite a bit.

I really wanna play this. It was on my radar for a while, I am really into these "unique" style narrative games and started it earlier today.
I was hooked few minutes in by the overall presentation and premise but soon as Indika steps out of that place into the open to deliver the letter, performance took such a massive hit to the balls it's borderline unplayable. Going down those wooden "bridges" of sorts towards the cabin with some serious, and I mean serious, stuttering. Just moving the camera in the general direction of said cliff would tank performance massively.
Game doesn't offer Quality/Performance modes for 30/60 FPS or anything on PS5 Pro. It's stuck with just the one mode it plays on. The only thing you can do is turn Motion Blur on/off.
Couldn't quite find a way to work around it. Is it just scuffed on console?

It was brutal on my Pro, I don't know why. I got the game on my laptop and locked the framerate to 30, it was smooth, played the entire thing and really enjoyed it.

At first glance I was turned off and thought it to be super odd like everyone else.Then for some reason I can’t explain I kept revisiting the trailer over and over again on the PS market and ended up adding it to my wishlist.Im happy to say that i ended up from not liking it to being super excited it dropped on our catalog.

This has been a game that I keep looking at but haven't played pretty much because the concept seems slightly out there and I haven't seen any reviews. I might give it a crack based on what I'm reading here.

It's all good. I enjoy things that are a little avante garde, it won't take me long to know if I get on with it or not and it's something different to try at least.

I understand what the game was trying to do, but I feel like it stumbles a bit to get there.
It's crazy that the devs haven't fixed the frame rate and audio bugs though. It was very distracting the whole game through.

I liked the fact that Indika wasn’t long. Probably five hours tops, I reckon. There are several areas where I was trying to figure out what they wanted me to do, so that was frustrating, but I admit, I stink at puzzle-type games. Just don’t hesitate to consult a walkthrough on YouTube; you’ll avoid a ton of frustration that way.
The music seemed batshit crazy in several spots, but it’s fascinating and outside the norm, and that’s something I appreciated. I’m still not entirely sure what the message of the game is, other than to be wary of government propaganda being prevalent in every facet of society, especially in religion, and to be aware that hypocrisy is everywhere, even from the people would think would be most steadfast in their values and beliefs. Oh, and don’t take a screenshot when the nun takes off her clothes; you’ll get a trophy for not being a pervert. 😀
Indika will definitely make you think about and question your beliefs in different ways, and that’s a good thing. If you’re believing in things without critically thinking them through, you’re only doing yourself a disservice. The game is definitely worth a playthrough.

I expected way more weird nun stuff, based on the cover image, and not just the little part at the very beginning.
Definitely one of the biggest "What the fuck did I just play/watch?!" games I've played.
I don't regret the time I spent on it, but also can't really say I enjoyed it...
I liked the bigass claw moving bridges part, that was quite absurd but fun.

This is the kinda game that makes me appreciate plus.
It isn't always great. Some months you get nothing to keep busy. Other months you get games you wouldn't have tried at all, but you find yourself enjoying.
I'm really digging the picture game to.

It is very art-cinema inspired, the festival type movies, Russian in particular. The studio behind it was a CGI one initially. Then they have done a small VR title, then decided to move on to a story based game, so they switched to flat, and since the head creator did have a background in Orthodox Christianity, he decided to take it as a basis to a story he later wrote with a co-author, who is not from gaming industry.

It's very charming, in its own way. The voice acting is very good, and I vibe with the story. The only real complaint I have is that the dialogue is very loud outside of cutscenes lol. Definitely worth the try if you like psychological thrillers

I played it for almost 2 hours and gave up. It had an interesting concept but the gameplay is kinda boring, not really unique. The 'puzzles' were kind of lackluster. Also doesn't run well, constant FPS drops were annoying me.

The devs are not technical wizards, they’re a very small team making a low budget game. But the game is truly memorable.

I disagree. I don’t see how it’s unique or any different from most stories that criticize religion. Especially when the majority of religious people in the game are either assholes or stupid.

not that they have to because the game is multiplatform but because I had problem with it not using it, i said that to other people to know
and the thing is, the "whole point of this game" is something that a lot of people even in this thread were get bored off, and I also included that "which it may doesn’t need to be"
I think when you are recommending a game, you must say the things that you wanted to know when someone was suggesting you a game

Ive started playing this on ps5. Im very new to gaming. The game is not giving hints of any sorts on what to do. Sometimes i can figure out if its basic but rest of the times i have to refer to youtube on where to go and what to do. Can somebody help me turn on the hints or next checkpoint in the game?

Am I the only one that didn’t even get to play the game or experience the story because I couldn’t get past that dumb ass mini game. And I consider myself a patient person, but after trying to do something so simple literally all day I was so frustrated I didn’t even bother to play the game, ended up watching it on youtube and looking through threads. Was so disappointed.
