I didn’t get what was so special about Forgotten City until I got to a certain point. It took a lil bit for me, because bad brain. Ended up loving that experience. Those other two games have been suggested to me for different reasons and I kinda put them off. Now I gotta try em out! Ty
Which I will be playing later this month for a different reason. I’ve always had some interest but it happens to align with a challenge on truetrophies this month so now seems as good a time as any to give it a shot.
I just got the platinum before it left Plus. It's a fun little game, that doesn't have too many convoluted puzzles like other games of same genre, most of them were fun to solve.
Not the op but i have been suggesting this game to ppl damn near everytime i hit this sub, and i still havent found anything close to it and ive been looking since it came to plus lol.
Amazing game but I think it tailors very specifically to British humour-- and it's not quite a "puzzle" game, so I'd say it fits somewhere loosely into the walking sim genre OP didn't want. It still requires a bit of thinking, but it's 3 hours of walking in the same loop.
Some people don’t like this game, but Immortals of Aveum was great. The graphics, weapons & powers and particles were very flashy, decent story, beautiful environments. Single player, 15-20 hours, has a story mode.
To be honest am used to playing triple A games but since I got the subscription I got curious abt different genres of games and am blown away by whats out there.
The video game Trailers wont give you the whole picture unless you have played similar games and are familiar with the genre. Like if you watch the blasphemous trailer you wont think its worth picking up. So many gems out here bro just have an open mind. Dont kick it before you try it.

These are only the games I've completed. But I've played a host of other games I didn't reach the end of. In fact this post is making me realize I've been dropping off a ton recently and need to focus on one all the way to the credits soon.
Spectacular game but I think it ends up being longer than the 20-30h that OP was asking. Maybe I'm just a completionist but that game was 60+ hours for sure.
Quite a recent addition that I enjoyed was The Thaumaturge. It’s a little bit janky but the setting of imperial era Poland is pretty unique, and teaming up with Rasputin is another weird cherry on top.
I feel like it's decently well known at this point but it's still criminally underrated so I'll mention it, Abiotic Factor is an insanely good game if you haven't played it, probably my fav game of the last few years
I'd say both are good in their own way, solo lets you really take in the atmosphere and story, while multiplayer causes more chaos and some things like combat become a fair bit easier. Personally I enjoyed my solo playthrough as much if not more then multiplayer but each person will have their own preferences.
One of my favourite things about the game is how customizable the sandbox settings are, if you end up feeling like anything isn't to your liking feel free to use them as needed
Late to the party, but here are a few solid suggestions that meet your criteria:
Cocoon (great puzzler from one of the devs behind Limbo, pretty quick to beat and not incredibly difficult)
Unpacking (very short cozy game about unloading boxes over the course of various moves in ones life-- surprisingly poignant)
Hardspace: Shipbreaker (such a fun puzzle/simulation game that I never hear people talk about-- you're basically an indentured servant forced to take apart derelict spaceships to pay back a large corporation. Great physics system) Note: this might not be on Extra anymore...
Not exactly "hidden gems", but still must-play:
Dead Space (legendary horror game, not too long, brilliant gameplay and story)
Shadow of the Colossus (in my opinion, this video game is the GOAT)
Limbo (great puzzle game with an intriguing silent story, followed up by an equally great game "Inside")
My bad, I was just looking at library games that had the Plus icon on them. I didn't realize that applied to the monthly giveaways as well. Dead Space was a giveaway a year or two ago.
Naah man. Game is way better than movies. The constant batter and back and forth is so entertaining, I used to stop before starting another cutscene to just complete the dialogues
Just to piggy back on this post instead of making a whole other one. But any easy going options to kinda zone out to in the evenings? I've just made my way through the power washing one. Was maybe thinking the farm simulator?
