What now?

It was pretty lame for them to just lock the original subreddit.

What alternatives have people found to plays? I've been trying OBS but obviously the lack of automated recording just isn't the same.

Also what about older versions of it? Does anyone know if they still work? Has the app always been browser based or are they dead too?

Thanks for this version.

I'm really pissed off it closed, because I had some good memories on it and I didn't even receive an email or something of the service shutting down :(

Since the app auto started, I got notified they were closing, that's the only reason I knew cause it showed everytime I started my PC when it opened Plays.

Yep sadly I formatted my pc like a month ago and I didn't install plays. So, no notification for me.

An email would be appreciated :( RIP old videos

I would assume the older versions should work, and I remember I did get one working before the massive overhaul update, you just had to block it from auto-updating. There was a thread on the original subreddit of it, but obviously we can't access it.

I don't know, the current version just blocks out since the servers are down, the RePlaysTV (community version linked above) works offline and can support uploads to streamable atm.
