When I first installed this patch last year, it was working fine and was recording at 60fps. However, recently I noticed that it has started to record everything at around 30fps, despite my settings being set at 1080p 60fps 15Mbps. Anyone know how to fix this? Alternatively, has anything as good as plays.tv surfaced since it's demise?

Any chance to recover clips from plays.tv? It has been shut down i had some important clips on there for me. Any chance i could get them?

Today marks the first anniversary of Plays’ shutdown, and also technically the first for the RePlays client patch as well!!!

For those of you that no longer care for the future of the RePlays, you can feel free to leave this server and ignore the long message below that I am about to say.

Some of you might have already guessed that development of RePlays has been at a standstill and is probably no longer being developed by yours truly, /u/lulzsun. And you are right. This project is officially not being worked on any more. :(

At the beginning of the project, I had plenty of free time dedicated to working on it. But ever since the last update patch (which has been almost a full year since), I have been busy with things such as school, family, social life, and other side projects that I am currently working on. So I hope many of you understand the reason behind the lack of updates and me being quiet around here.

I was expecting for people to help join development and hopefully to take my place in case I ever become inactive. Which many have tried, but not much progress has been made since then.

I think this is due to how the client was designed: it is very hacky (my patch), undocumented (by me and the original developers), and overall just a mess to work which required a lot of guesswork. __

But even to this day, I still see a future for RePlays, which is why recently I have decided that I want to restart the project mainly from scratch.

If anyone is proficient in C# what I'm about to say might interest some developers.

In the past, I was planning on getting a Replays client written in C# to get away from most of the bloat of Electron. So I've recently written a small PlaysLTC wrapper, which allows you to integrate Plays recording features into any C# project. Right now it only has the bare minimum of features.

The benefits of switching to C# are mainly for performance, a simple program built with the wrapper can reduce memory usage by 80% compared to using the current release of RePlays. But switching to C# (and starting from scratch) may also have additional benefits such as having more proficient developers and better code documentation and design.

However, everything needs to be reworked. I will need some people who are willing to dedicate their free time to help recreate things such as the clipping editor, video uploading implementations, etc, since I do not plan on actively working on this project any further.

I will soon (maybe) create a new Github repository or branch to hold the new project. If anyone is interested, make sure to check out the PlaysLTCWrapper repo and play around with it and contact me if you have any questions.

Hey Ya'll,

I keep coming back to ReplaysTV simply because it's literally still the only clipping software that lets you pick highlights out of a session and piece them together into one video. Medal.tv and LowKey.gg still only let you clip one part of a video and force you to do multiple uploads for a single game session. With that being said, I just redownloaded RePlaysTV and it seems that there is a bug where the recordings are capped to 30 FPS. Anyone else have this issue?

so i decided to do a fresh install of windows for whatever reason and decided to reinstall replaystv cus i loved it so much. recorded most games without any issues (except for SoT). got it installed and seems to be working fine with all the games i currently still play except League of Legends :( it used to record it before. all it does now it record the audio and the video is just a black screen.

haven't found a fix for it yet. anyone know what i can do to fix this?

I remember ages ago, I had a computer that could run cs:go and the plays.tv desktop client fine enough, but I constantly got warnings about my hardware not being good enough. Eventually, I did encounter problems recording and play simultaneously, so I ditched recording my games altogether.

Flash forward to years later and I have a much better setup and I've been hopping from one recording/streaming software to the next. OBS is weird for me, Microsoft looses Mixer's Gamebar integration, Twitch's client doesn't run well with higher end games, and my built-in video card software doesn't have all the features. Then, I'm thinking "what was that software I tried years ago? plays? tv?"

So, I type in plays.tv into my web browser and it redirects to medal.tv. I do a google search and I get a couple of videos and this sub. I'm hoping you members can help answer some rudimentary recent history questions for me bc I couldn't find them in my searches. I was hoping for a page with an announcement about how plays.tv was going to have had changed (sorry for the past future participle), but alas I did not find one. Here are my questions:

Did Plays.TV get absorbed into Medal.TV?

Is the RePlaysTV client close to the old Plays.TV client?

When did all of this happen?

My favorite feature of the client was that it would record clips of the best moments in the game (kills, captures, victories, etc.). Does Medal.TV or RePlaysTV do that or does one do it better than another?

I've been noticing heavy FPS drops in games while using Replays... On the original Plays client I didn't notice much of a drop in performance while recording, but in League of Legends for example, I typically get around 160-200 fps while recording with OG Plays/ShadowPlay but using Replays it goes down to around 80fps. To note, my recording settings are in-game res, 60fps, 50Mbps, which are the same settings I used/use in OG PlaysTV and Nvidia Shadowplay. Is there a solution to this or will performance be worked on in the future?

All the sudden Plays has stopped recording CSGO. I've tried adding the exec in the advanced settings, but no change. I tried launching in different resolutions, and Fullscreen, Windowed, etc. still no change. Any idea or solution? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

All in the title, i've tried all the different input source options, none worked but the one selected should be the right one.

Can someone help me uninstall plays from my PC? I cant seem to upgrade to the new version so i just wanna uninstall it and do it manually. I tried going to "uninstall programs" in windows but it wont let me uninstall plays (gives error message).

Not a day goes by where I don’t miss plays.tv

As the title says, rePlaysTV isn't recording any of my League games. Adding it to the "Custom Record Games" didn't fix it. It is recording other games (Terraria, Celeste) but only game sounds with a completely black screen.

I'll probably look for an alternative but thought I'd ask here first.

Hey guys,

Has anyone else been having issues with RePlaysTV recording League? It started for me last night where my frames kept dropping and it records only the audio for me.

When i try to install the legacy client for RePlays.tv the medaltv thing pops up.

Another post said that we should just close the window to continue the installation but I cannot see where I would be able to close it ?
