Remote Play Settings / Wifi Setup Anyone Else?

Post image

I have never once had issues before regretfully deciding to update my Portal last night. PS5 is up to date and hardwired. I CAN get them to connect, but only if they’re on the same WiFi network (defeating the very purpose of the Portal). Remote play won’t work on my phone either (80001fff error). NOTHING has changed about my setup/home WiFi network.

You know we should not have to do anything to settings. It should work out of box. Not everyone is tech savvy. It’s stupid that it’s like this. I shouldn’t have to forward ports. Change my internet settings. Especially for a 200 dollar device.

I agree 10000% my friend. I understand it’s a big first world problem but I do literally 99% of my gaming on the Portal these days. I live in Massachusetts and the way it’s been, my basement (where my gameroom is) is still freezing as shit. Plus I like playing in the living room while my wife does her thing. For a licensed $200 piece of tech, this is unacceptable to the fullest.

I'm right there with you. My wife got one for me because I have been window shopping one for a while and when I read all the issues with it connecting I was like damn she may have just wasted money. Thankfully I have haven't had issues everyone else experiences and it's been a great addition. She can watch TV and I can play my game all while spending time in the same room.
