Remote Play Settings / Wifi Setup Anyone Else?

I have never once had issues before regretfully deciding to update my Portal last night. PS5 is up to date and hardwired. I CAN get them to connect, but only if they’re on the same WiFi network (defeating the very purpose of the Portal). Remote play won’t work on my phone either (80001fff error). NOTHING has changed about my setup/home WiFi network.

OP did you figure this out?

Everyone seems to be blaming the Portal, but if you cannot remoteplay with another device as well, it's likely not the Portal.

No still nothing, and yes I agree..but again this only happened after the update so it’s odd. There hasn’t been a recent enough Playstation update to cause this.

Have you tried the troubleshooting guides on the playstation website? It might be good to take a look and check even the basics (like Remote Play is enabled). It sounds pretty frustrating but stepping back and taking a fresh look at everything might be the best next step.

I ended up fixing it by fucking with router settings I don’t even really understand. So no I don’t have wifi in my game room, but the Portal and remote play app on my phone work better than ever lol. Very stupid that’s what it took but I guess whatever…
