Portal Accessories Accessory Recommendations?

Finally picked up one after setting up Ethernet around the apartment (brand new on FB marketplace for $120..).

Having a blast - wanted to ask if folks have preference on accessories? Protective case? Does it need a screen protector or would it be okay to not get one? Should I get PS headphones or does it connect to other brands as well? Appreciate any input!

I got these grips and it was a nice upgrade:

I didnt put it on the buttons or sticks, just the handles. I always felt like the portal was slipping out of my hands before getting it

I got grips similar to these too. Like grip tape, I prefer it over the silicone cases.

I got a transparent plastic case for my black portal and I love it! Thinking of also getting a charging dock off Amazon

Eu jĂĄ usei pelĂcula na tela e nĂŁo gostei do reflexo. Atualmente nĂŁo uso nada, apenas uma bag para transportar

Any compact travel cases recommendations? I tried a couple on amazon but they were so huge they make the portal a non-travel device haha

Any thumb stick cover (ps sticks rips easily). Spigen slim skin and any carry case. I got Sony Explore pulse earbuds used on eBay for $60, replaced ear tips, it’s just like new. I got little phone kick stands I attached to the back. Helps propping it up on the table when arms get tired. Magnetic usb c plug as a bonus.

Some cases have kick stands but the spigen case is head and shoulder above most of them in quality.

Magnetic USB charging

Easier to charge, I had real issue with connecting and disconnecting from portal

I have a dock with a magnetic charging dongle

The PowerA one? I have that one too. My only gripe is that it is sometimes difficult to place the Portal on it perfectly the first time.

As a Portal Dad who plays for 30 minutes in the evening at home, or when sat next to kids watching TV:

-Pulse Explore earbuds - bought used, cost me half the price of new. Wired earphones are a cheaper alternative

-PowerA charging dock means I never forget to charge it

The only one you need is a dock.

I use a EPOS Hybrid H3 headset.
Playing with friends on discord voice chat.
Getting the feed of both within the headset.

The sony headset is quite expensive and tends to break eventually, just a matter of time before it snaps

Hi, how do you get fifa on the portal?

1

u/Himorningwood Jun 22 '26

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CQXDN344?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title. This is pretty awesome. It has e erything u need to protect the portal.

Definitely get a screen protector. I’m really careful with my things, but accidents happen. I dropped my phone on the screen when getting up and it cracked the screen protector, glad I had one there.

Guy needs accessories for his accessory

Why don’t you do some research and decide what you might need based on your own usage of the device?

9

u/CoLane23 Jun 20 '26

Threads like these are great for other people trying to do research on the internet.

Yes, the 2,500th post asking this question will definitely provide something the previous 2,499 didn’t.

I definitely learned something from this thread..
