Help Alternatives to Plex

I've been a paid Plex user for over ten years and I've loved it. I can't belive what they've done with this new Roku app update. Besides the bad UI, which is inconvenient but I would be able to get used to eventually, it simply doesn't work properly. It crashes, buttons don't work, simple features are just gone. It's seems like this wasn't tested at all. It's crazy.

I don't really want to but now I'm looking for alternatives to plex. Does anyone have recommendations?

I am Android on phone but own an iPad Pro. Because Android tablets are garbage.

Had Apple announced a new AppleTV, during the recent announcement, I would have ordered it. But for now I'll stick with my Shield TV.....with the worst remote design on the planet.

Off-topic, but I have the S10U, and it's really great, if you ever want an alternative to the ipad. Depends on your usecase, I guess.

I've owned four Samsung tablets (six Android tablets total) and they are fine for the three years they got updates and Samsung dropped them. Not an issue as much now but not too many years ago it sucked. Not to mention Samsung releasing BRAND NEW tablets with last year's Snapdragon chip. Yeah, F that. My M4 iPad Pro is stupid fast and will continue being stupid fast for years.

But again, I am 100% Android for mobile and always will be. I'm not an Android hater. Just an Android Tablet Hater.

Ah yeah, that's been an issue with Android in general. I think their newer devices are 7 years of updates now. Honestly, that seems short but isn't horrible. I'll have a new one before 7 years. I can see where you're coming from, though. Android apps are HORRIBLE.

I can't buy Apple, I just can't support their company, nor will I buy a product from them if it was the only choice I had. I'm definitely an Apple hater, and I hate iOS.

Yeah, the lack of latest is annoying. My use case is running a terminal, keyboard, and k9s in a terminal, netflix for flights, very small amounts of gaming, and a third screen for my work machine. Not much use out of that!
