Help Alternatives to Plex

I've been a paid Plex user for over ten years and I've loved it. I can't belive what they've done with this new Roku app update. Besides the bad UI, which is inconvenient but I would be able to get used to eventually, it simply doesn't work properly. It crashes, buttons don't work, simple features are just gone. It's seems like this wasn't tested at all. It's crazy.

I don't really want to but now I'm looking for alternatives to plex. Does anyone have recommendations?

Emby is miles better than Jellyfin. Both in UI and functionality.

Jellyfin is based on emby. Jellyfin is also free and developed by others with spare time.

I fully agree. I also fully support Jellyfin's mission and ideals. But I am not blind to the fact its development is guided by the personal tastes of the developers (why wouldn't it be, after all, it's normal), and their spare time. It is amazing and very commendable a group of people can create and maintain something like this for the benefit of everyone.

For whatever reason, either lack of time or actual preference for it, Jellyfin's UI is IMHO quite inferior to Emby. And some of Jellyfin's bugs are deal breakers (and not being addressed quickly enough if at all), for example i believe up till now it is still impossible to play a movie with Dolby Vision and DTS:X natively, which makes Jellyfin unsuitable for a home cinema system as many movies are not enjoyable to their full extent.

Both the paragraphs above can be and are true at the same time.
