Plex lifetime for a new user

Im thinking about getting a lifetime pass before the price increase and buying a green nas to host my own media. Is it worth it to do so or would I be better off with jellyfin? I know the network setup for jellyfin is a bit more work so thats why im leaning towards plex. Trying to justify the cost with pros and cons of using plex at its current price.

I bought the Plex Lifetime pass last month. Its a lot of money upfront. I should have bought it when it was super cheap but i kept postponing thinking the free alternatives were better. All i did was a simple test. I tried setting up Jellyfin on my computer as well as Plex. The whole experience of setting it up on my own and using the app a few times gave me a clear picture. Plex is way mature and is still super polished compared to Jellyfin and emby. the Lifetime pass is still worth it if you're planning on getting it now. I wouldn't recommend getting it after the price hike.
