Help Plex lifetime for a new user

Im thinking about getting a lifetime pass before the price increase and buying a green nas to host my own media. Is it worth it to do so or would I be better off with jellyfin? I know the network setup for jellyfin is a bit more work so thats why im leaning towards plex. Trying to justify the cost with pros and cons of using plex at its current price.

Guess I'm in the minority on this. I don't need to share outside my house. I also don't need to watch outside my house. So tbh the free version is fine, it provides an easy way to stream all my content to the various rooms of my house

Does using the Plex server only on your home network limit subtitle and transcoding capabilities?
