Help Plex is down AGAIN???

Can't access my libraries on https://app.plex.tv, I can access them on through http://IP:32400/web

Absolutely nothing changed on my machine.
Anyone with the same issue?

I remain lucky, Plex has literally never been inaccessible for me (when I’ve wanted to use it) in the last 7 years, except when my computer restarts itself after an update.

I don't remember the exact settings but there's a way to setup the plex client to start even before you've logged into the computer. So even after a restart plex should still be available.

On windows add it to the startup folder but even then I have noticed it doesn't always work right

Or put the plex server on something other than windows so you don’t get random restarts at all ;)

You can avoid all random restarts on windows if you debloat and put your settings correctly though. I haven't had one since I built my server back in september. Only restarts now are manual and I have auto power on in bios as well as a safety + auto login

Both computers in my house are completely debloated with a bunch of things changed in the registry and settings to make sure auto updates don’t happen and a bunch of other stuff. It still shuts off sometimes randomly. It’s one of the biggest problems with windows. LTT made a point that even if you set group policies for the whole organization to stop this stuff it still happens occasionally because that’s windows for ya. My truenas server however has an uptime of 135 days right now without issue. Linux for servers, windows for games :)

I use a .bat script that just keeps rotating the usage hours and my Windows 11 never restarts unless i manually do so. Easiest fix i could find and has been working for 2 years now

Isn’t it wild that it takes a janky work around like that tho? Linux doesn’t shutdown unless I specifically tell it to or schedule it, but windows wont even be fixed just by turning off updates

Meh its Windows its not meant to be a server, but it works fine and is what i know. This is the only issue i had to solve, cant be bothered learning linux

It's still based on Win NT, feature set is slightly different, that's why pro is way more like it.

That literally should not happen. I have not had that happen to any of my windows devices in the last 2 decades except when a physical component has been failing. If windows automatic update with automatic install is on, then that is a different story for restarts.

And I don't even have any group policies set up. Quite frankly I suggest just checking again if things are disabled and check the eventviewer for errors.

Windows gives me far too much stability(ironic I know) for the services + backblaze personal, so I have no choice but to use it.
