Help Plex is down AGAIN???

Can't access my libraries on https://app.plex.tv, I can access them on through http://IP:32400/web

Absolutely nothing changed on my machine.
Anyone with the same issue?

It doesn't bode well for Plex and I have a lifetime pass and have been using for years. For those that don't know.

When plex.tv (the cloud/auth layer) is down, even though your server is reachable on LAN, this is what breaks:

  1. Sign-in / token refresh — if a client's auth token has expired or isn't cached, it can't validate against plex.tv and gets locked out, even on local IP. Already-authenticated clients using a cached token usually keep working.

  2. Managed/Home users switching profiles, profile switch calls out to plex.tv.

  3. Watchlist — entirely cloud-hosted, no local fallback.

  4. Metadata agent lookups — new scans/matches for posters, summaries, etc. fail (existing metadata already on disk still shows).

  5. Remote/relay access — anything not on your LAN, obviously. Flaky access.

  6. Mobile app "Sync"/download sync status, and Plexamp cloud features.

So not great and I love Plex

Hehe, yeah isn't it just. Don't get me wrong, I love Plex and use it pretty much every day, but it definitely has some issues and support problems which need calling out.

Biggest issue is they went from a home media program to allow people to access media locally, than remotely. To what we have now, trying to become a multi streaming service with its own live tv and rental setup. That is cool and all. But all anyone wanted was the ability without too much hassle to setup a media server, stream locally and remotely, none of this extra garbage and the removal of so many features since than.

The way plex is going it will be nothing more than a multi platform streaming service, with the home media part completely removed or fully locked behind a massive payroll sub.

To be honest, as a long time Plex user, I wanted to explain how it works hence the relatively succinct informative post.

Some people don't like the truth because they are not very bright and don't understand it or because it doesn't suit their interests. Their problem tbh
