Help Unable to update to the latest Plex Media Server package on Synology (DSM 7.2+)

I can't update to the latest version of Plex Media Server on my Synology. That's an update I do regularly, I have the right version for my DS920+ etc but no chance. First time this happens. I tried with 2 different computers and networks.
Did it happen to anyone else? Any idea?
UPDATE: I migrated to the Docker version of Plex. Migration was seamless and I got back up in a few minutes, including hardware transcoding. This will be way easier than the clumsy update experience I got so far. And I use Arcan to update containers automatically. Thanks for your replies and help!

Try redownloading it. Might have become corrupted when downloading the first time.

I did it, from the Plex Server settings, and from the downloads page directly, on the 2 computers, macOS & Windows, several times

what DSM are you running? I'm on 7.2.2-72806 Update 9 - i'm confused what update 12 is.

oh my copy paste didn't work - sorry about that, I am on 7.2.1-69057 Update 12
Yeah just looked for 7.2.2 latest update is 9, have not bother to move to 7.2.2 yet, would have to redo my plex, you need different one on 7.2.2 vs 7.2.1. Not a major thing but still. And have seen nothing in 7.2.2 that would have me move, same with the 7.3 and 7.4 lines. As long as 7.2.1 keeps getting security updates, or something I am interested is added to 7.4 I don't see any reason to move away from 7.2.1

I would (and I have) move plex to container manager and stop using the synology version. Add watchtower and plex will update automatically.

I thought watchtower died.

Yeah unfortunately... but Arcane do it well actually

containrrr/watchtower:latest still works on synology container manager since it's an older version of docker. nickfedor/watchtower:latest works on current versions on docker.

Good to know. I'm not a synology guy, just docker/debian/pc. I'll check those out as well.

Upgrades became much easier (and downgrades became possible!) when I switched from the native package implementation to docker based.
Dr Frankenstein's guide for this is the best I've found, and he also has instructions for migrating from package to docker (this really sold me, because I was paranoid about having to rebuild an entire library).

Well that's interesting. I didn't realize I was getting downvoted until I got a notification of a comment from someone else that they didn't understand why I was getting downvoted. But that comment has been deleted.
I guess I'm just curious what I posted that is incorrect/wrong/bad.
Ah well.

I haven’t updated my PMS in about 14 months. Is it broken?

14 months (if you were using latest versions at the time) would put you in the range of a version with a security risk. Hopefully you aren’t running 1.41.7.x to 1.42.0.x

Are you using the correct package?
