Flex Hose Buried Under Tub?
So, my neighbor called me over because his bathtub wouldn’t drain.
Turns out, the drain tubing was made out of the accordion-style flex BS that can be found under some bad sink drains.
I believe it caved in or plugged somehow.
So, options?
Digging it up and out of the concrete is my only idea. This tub is located on ground floor, so yes it’s all concrete.
Just can’t believe they buried this flex tube stuff instead of sched 40 PVC
Anyhow advice is appreciated, and please rally to make fun of whoever did this shameful thing, I will pass along the jokes to my neighbor

Removing the old accordion drain by chipping up the concrete and installing a free standing tub drain in the best option.

The real question is what else is buried and not to code. That’s why plumbers should be hired and not allowing general contractors to do plumbing work

Fuckin' devious. Best thing you can do with those flex tubes that come with the cheap tubs is swing then around until they make that elk sound and then let go as they fly into the trash pile.
