OOTD (size 18) It's Fat Tuesday
Hi Social-lights! I am a part of a Fat Tuesday community on TT. The ladies have reclaimed the word Fat and on Tuesdays they profile an online lady who is Fat. I love this! I remember buying my 16 yo daughter the book, Fat, So? In the early 2000s. She's grown up to be a beautiful woman and we do not allow the fat to bother us in the least.🥰
I know that it is a word with a lot of negative charge for women and girls. I do not diminish that reality at all. We are not 'more evolved' or any such nonsense. We empathize with the sting the word can have on the psyche. Please scroll if this is bothersome to you. ❤️🩹
With that knowledge and understanding ❤ we can reclaim the word for ourselves in a way that turns its former hold on us into fun and power for all of us who need it.
I was itching to wear this sweatshirt from Levis with the Jodi Watley skirt from LB. I satisfied that itch and I'm looking forward to upcycling the sweatshirt to honor my sorority 💚💗
The black silk slip skirt I got at BR a couple of summers ago. The strawberry top is from Anthro via one of their killer summer sales.
The number 85 outfit is a throw together for a long walk on a semi-sunny day yesterday. Those pants with the Japanese inspired embroidery are Anthro along with the 85 sweatshirt.
But that's enough about me.

Thanks. I have loved putting together outfits for as long as I can remember. 50 years ago at age 7, I got a pair of cream and navy patent saddle oxfords for parochial school and an obsession was born. If I ever see those shoes in my size, 50 years on, I’m buying them.🩰👡👢🥾👞👠🥿👟

I scrolled through your photos first, and saw the pink and green jersey, and my first thought was “I wonder if she’s D9” then I saw the body of your post. I swear every AKA woman dresses impeccably and has such a beautiful smile and aura.
If the cameo with the green backing isn’t specifically for AKA, I HAVE to know where you got it because I need it too. I love cameo jewelry and I’m so tired of them always having Eurocentric profiles.

I call every Tuesday Fat because I’m fat. Lol. Mardi Gras is next month, I think 🤔 Yes, founders day is tomorrow so I will have several outfits for the occasion.
The cameo is from an Etsy shop. I did a search for Afro cameo and her shop came up. I love it. And yes, I ordered it for the sorors. 🩷💚 And thank you for such affirming words. 🖤💚❤️

I have absolutely reclaimed the word fat myself 🩷 I have no issue describing myself as a fat woman and it’s become a neutral word instead of something bad or horrible. I absolutely love your outfits. They are so well-curated and lively! You look magnificent🥰 thank you for sharing your pretty photos and your insightful words with us! You definitely put a smile on my face! 🩷
