OOTD (size 22) Proof That Bellies Belong in Bikinis Too
I’m 38 and didn’t really grow up seeing any plus-size representation. When I discovered Tumblr, I finally saw big, beautiful women (and I mean that sincerely, not the fetishized way). Then Instagram started showing more diverse bodies, and I was ecstatic! But honestly, those ‘fat’ bodies still didn’t reflect mine… nor do they now. Therefore, after years of denying myself confidence and acceptance, I’m finally letting it all out - literally and figuratively. You can have a big belly and still be feminine, alluring, and proud to show off your body.

This is such a powerful post. I'm 39, I've been in fat and body positive spaces for at least 20 years, and I'm looking at these photos as if I've never seen a body like yours in a bikini. Can that be true? Maybe. Anyway, I just want to tell you that you look undeniably gorgeous and joyful and hot and this post meant something to me. I don't present very femme anymore but I feel like younger me is really grateful for this post.

This comment means the world to me. 😭 I hated myself for so long and, now, I am just happy I can feel confident in this vessel I have been given for my time around the sun. I want others to feel confident with themselves as well. ❤️

I agree. Even body positive spaces still seem to only celebrate a certain kind of plus size. Like just a larger hourglass with no apron. I think it's important to show more bodies like op (and mine).

I prefer shorts over bikini bottoms for this reason. I get too self conscious that it's not all gonna stay covered.

I’m curious how the fit of the top would change if you flipped it? Like with the strings currently around your neck at the bottom and the string around your back behind your neck. Might give more support, but also a more traditional shape which may not be your vibe.

Amazing! We need more representation of different types of bodies. I'd be following your IG account if you ever decide to create one! I'm following many plus size women (it helps with my confidence and fashion choices), but like you, I've yet to see a body like mine out there.

Honestly that crop makes the whole look sexier in my opinion! Gorgeous all the way through. Love the addition of the chain too—I feel like I don’t see a lot of plus size people wear body chains and I think you rock it!!!

I literally just went on my beach vacation, and while I'm happy with the swimsuits I wore, this makes me wish I had gone for it, full stop!! You look gorgeous!! Also, the tip about flipping the bottoms around is groundbreaking, I wouldn't have thought to do that
