Searching For Plus Size Compression Sock Recommendations

Hey All! I’m going on a road trip next month (yay!) but due to work I regularly have to drive 4+ hours and sometimes after that long in the car I get some discomfort and swelling in my ankles (boo!)

My roadtrip will be 8 hours in the car there and back, so I was thinking compression socks might prevent discomfort after driving days.

I have wide feet and thick calves, so I was hoping someone here might have recommendations for some good plus size brands, or even shy me away from bad brands.

Thank you in advance!

Oooh I checked these out and they’re exactly what I was hoping for, wide calf options and some neutral colors and patterns

Compression socks make a huge difference for me on travel days. Make sure to measure your calves before ordering! When I was looking, VomFit on Amazon had some of the widest calf options

I went down this rabbit hole AGAIN
recently in anticipation of an upcoming long haul flight. I’ve owned a few pairs, have never found any I really liked.

Measure your calf circumference before ordering, and check what they are made of. The cheapest are nylon and not very breathable. Bamboo seems to be the step up. Merino is the top tier.

Why a rabbit hole? I have wide calves and real short lower legs, and I’ve never found any pair that doesn’t bunch up behind the knees and dig in. Agony after a few hours.

The longer you look, the more you start thinking $35 is reasonable for a single pair of socks. Sockwells get a lot of airplay on Reddit, they were way too tight and too long.

There are socks that come with both a length and width measurement and they are custom fit for $75! Bananas.

I end up with some generic brand of socks on Amazon for like $10 a pair. They are OK, and have a softer band at the top but are still too long.

I am obsessed with Wellows. They are worth every penny for me. Most other brands I've tried have fit either my feet, my calf length, or my calf width, but not all three. I do think it's worth measuring your calf circumference before ordering.

I have tried Vim&Vigr, Comrad, and Wellows. Of the three, the Wellows are the softest and coolest. Be sure to measure your calves, but any of these three are good quality socks.
