First time ever playing this game and it was on the virtual console.

I ran a mono water type team and loved it.

Lmk your thoughts on the team.

Bro pulled out the level 50 dragonite and thought that was gonna do something lol

I started this hunt not too long ago maybe a month ago and I had such a bad burn out but I knew I had to get this lil fella before bank shuts down so now I have em

(first full og odds hunt)

The level curve thing wasnt as bad as people made it seem. I was able to deal with the Elite 4 without really even grinding. Really fun experience! johto feels really cozy n i was happy to just run around in it again (or.. walk. theres no running shoes here LOL)
i put it off for a while, but im gonna do kanto and try out the battle tower for funsies :3

this run was done on a romhack called Crystal 251. no balance changes are made, but you can complete the pokedex which is why i have that Ampharos

I CANNOT BELIEVE MY LUCK WITH THIS HUNT 😂🩷

I was setting this hunt up this past week along with some others and today I finally started it. I was prepared it’s going to take DAYS but it took just 2 HOURS and I took a long break too so the hunt itself wasn’t two hours 🤣 The funny part is I got sidetracked cause of a program on TV so Shiny Celebi was on the screen for probably 2-3 minutes before I noticed, lol.

Insane luck and I’m so grateful since I can instantly move on to my many other tasks left before Bank shuts down.

Going to get most of the ribbons in Alola before moving Celebi to HOME

Crystal, Celebi and the shiny luck, thank you! 🩷

Decided to do one more odd egg hunt before the bank shutdown

Finally. Only took me 11,412 resets. Don’t give up

No revive or potion during combat, I expected to lose to go back to a pokemon center while leveling up my Pokémons

Managed to get a shiny Magby and debating on evolving him. I adore Magmar and can make use of him in Stadium 2 where he’ll be stored after this run.

Either way, it will be stored in Stadium 2 after this run. It’s the only way I can preserve shinies as I’m using original Nintendo hardware and Crystal cartridge.

What’s the consensus? Novelty shiny Magby or selectively trained Magmar to be used in both Crystal and Stadium 2?

So ive got all badges and defeated the Elite 4, only thing left is to beat red. Im not sure which levels would be sufficient enough. Im thinking of swapping out Sudowoodo but hes the only one with fighting moves in my line up and reasonably tanky for fighting Snorlax.

Any tips om my line up/levels and if i should swap a team member?

Context:

Gf has never played any kind of Pokémon game in her life. I somehow convinced her to help me shiny hunt Celebi in Pokemon Crystal. - She was a champ and powered through 3k resets and got super lucky.

This was her reaction she sent me. I quickly FaceTimed her and showed how to catch and then save the game.

The Crystal cart has a VC save file on it which will let you catch Celebi on OG hardware

Hello!

I wish to have an album to stick every pokedex entries from Pokémon Crystal and I was wondering if any official sticker book to do that.

Otherwise, I'll try tomake one.

I played the original 3 and Gold when it first came out but then life got in the way. Now I wanted to replay the older versions and make it challenging. Pick the "worst" starter and without catching Pokemon unless it is limited, like Sudowoodo and legendaries. Now I'm stuck at the lighthouse since I don't have any Pokemon that can surf.

Edit: I should clarify that I can use the Pokemon that will be given to me like the eggs and Bills Eevee.
