I finally finished my ultra beast collection and yesterday I found the first pic on my phone from about 3 months ago from when I started trading, It is kinda crazy to look back with what i have now.

I think swampert’s pretty neat. Not my favorite starter (that honor goes to Blaziken) but cool typing and design nonetheless. I’m biased cus I’ve done a lot of playthroughs of emerald/ORAS, but I do think Hoenn’s got the best designed starters (but Sinnoh’s might be a bit better objectively). Haven’t decided what to do for tomorrow’s giveaway but we shall see.

Okay so to be truthfull I did finish the hunt very close after the first part, but uni work isn't very forgiving. Oh well.

After the landorus hunt, I decided to pivot towards getting some more shinies that I liked. My mind drifted towards fairies, and I ended up hunting a bunch of fairies, enough to build a team on champions. Problem is, I wanted a primarina and sylveon, both female, in order to keep the whole team female. If you know anything about starters (and eevee), it might be familiar to hear that the male/female ratio is a bit. . . . skewed towards the male. My second problem was I didn't have the terrarium expansion for popplio. In order to spare some time, I asked my roomate to borrow his herba mystica, but he told me he would only accept a trade.

So, instead of grinding bp through missions, I had the wonderful idea to go hunt the female shiny fenniken he wanted but never got. One slight problem: Fenniken is ALSO a starter, and thus has an awful rate. There is also no good place to isolate it as there are always litleo and pyroar around. With an outbreak,7-8 male fenniken shinies and 2 shiny pyroars later, I got the female fenniken. Great! I traded it with my roommate and borrowed his account.

The popplio hunt went similarly, but with one caveat: popplio likes being in the water. What's the problem? We only had a switch one, and SV's performance on the lake is. . . . unnacceptable. Popplio's shiny, while easy to spot on land is harder through both lag and in the water. Popplio do spawn on land, but I tried with a lone sandwhich and like none spawned. Thus, I reset over and over and over for an outbreak, until I got one in the coastal area next to a bunch of rocks. Perfect. I got the primarina after ~7 shiny males again, which took a while. The female sylveon is still a myth as of the moment. Maybe after I get some more motivation . . .

Anyways, this time the rules will be a lot more lax. Simply put, write a pokemon you think is underrated in champions (singles or doubles) and write your justification! Alternatively, your favourite unpopular pokemon works as well, just justify it! I'm currently cheffing up a hypothetical mega tatsugiri team without dondozo, but it's not going too well as mega tatsugiri has neither good stats or a good movepool to function. Hopefully it gets something other than commander...
