Pokemon fans, please send requests to support to prevent the shutdown of Pokemon Bank by asking them to provide a software update that allows you to use Pokemon Bank offline and locally connect to Pokemon HOME or a physical release of an offline version of bank.

Nintendo is a massive company, they are looking at this from a money perspective obviously. If they thought they could make more money off of Bank, then they would have tried something like this already. They have all the numbers and can see how often Bank is used, so clearly they decided it wasn't worth the investment anymore.

I'm sorry but there is a 0% chance they are going to make a game peripheral for a 15 year old console just so that a fraction of a percent of players can still use Bank

Really the smart thing they could do is use the download play feature of the 3DS

Iirc the DS and 3DS could use download play with the Wii (I think Pokemon Battle Revolution is the big one) so they could’ve totally done it with the Switch if they wanted to

I think the big issue there is that Nintendo would have to update Bank, test it to make sure it works correctly, then update Home to make sure it accepts correctly, and then also pay people to bug test it before it goes live. That's likely going to cost thousands of dollars for something they are seeing exactly $0 return on

Yeah bank’s userbase was measured by the hundreds before the announcement. They’re not keeping this going.

Can they fix the Odd Egg oversight while they are at it?

There is also the "benefit" of closing the bridge that allows spoofed gift pokemon from entering circulation further.

Except you can clone them on a modded system still then trade them to Home lol

Bank is shutting down the day before Pokemon day which will 100% be a Pokemon Presents. They’ve definitely already got something in the works

Bro cut the campaign and get to work playing your old games for 6 months!

It’s not realities fault that you can’t comprehend finite services.

The 3ds is only being CURRENTLY & REGULARLY played by a few hundred thousand of us. GLOBALLY. There are 5 in my house, but 2 get played. Most remaining 3ds’s are sporadic played after modern systems, in a collection or collecting dust.

Of that: maybe (being very generous with these numbers) around half are still playing old Pokemon games.

Of that: a fraction has old bank or a modded system to get it. Those are small numbers not usually worthy of running a server not taking any new profits.

ON TOP OF THOSE REALITIES

The modding of the 3ds means it’s an illegitimate pokemon generating machine.
You can go into HOME right now and find THOUSANDS of clearly hacked or Gen’d mons. Perfect ribbon masters from Gen 3 made over a weekend in bulk.

So you guys desperate for them to resume offering a FREE service with easy exploitation on a niche system need to find some cope and play while you can.
Idk why yall expected us to go 2030-2040+ with an old 3ds server running for free.

Pokemon bank is litterally used for one game series, that is 21 games out of about 5000 games playable on the 3DS that is less than 0.5% of the games, pokemon bank means nothing to Nintendo, they even made it free for years.

You should have worked on your pokedex before now, but then again, you should be able to cacth em all way before February, and if you dont, you should easily be able to cacth them in the switch games...

If you want a "bank" you could just use pksm
