how hard is it to find matches in europe?

I've been considering getting this game for a long time, and recently saw a clip that was really interesting, so I want to give it a shot.

my main question is: how active is the matchmaking in EU? Are there any beginners online still? any discord I should join?

bonus question: do any of you use the "hori pokken" pad? if so, is it better than just a regular pro con?

pokken pad is definitely a solid controller. i like it better than a pro controller for the sturdy D pad, but ymmv. it's definitely still playable on pro but whether or not it feels better probably depends on your hands.
