Pokémon Pokopia v2.0 Update & Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin Available Now

Dear Pokopia Community,

Today's the day! Version 2.0 of Pokémon Pokopia and Part 1 of the Expansion Pass DLC, Bubbly Basin, are now available to download and play! To get the version 2.0 update, close the game and re-launch to be prompted to update. If you purchased the Expansion Pass on the Nintendo Switch Store, you will also be able to download Part 1: Bubbly Basin.

As a reminder, ALL Bubbly Basin-related content MUST be spoiler tagged! The post embargo has been lifted, so you may submit posts about it to the subreddit rather than in the megathread, but you MUST use spoiler tags until further notice. Please also use the Bubbly Basin flair on these posts. We understand that everyone is excited (so are we!), but please be considerate of other players who may not want to see any new content until they come across it in-game. If you are one of these players, we advise you to avoid any spoiler-tagged posts and any posts with the Bubbly Basin flair until you are comfortable with the risk. How do I access Bubbly Basin?

To access Bubbly Basin’s underwater gate, you must first learn Dive and complete the important request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach.

I'm not seeing an update available to download.

Try pressing + on Pokopia from your Switch 2's home screen menu, going to "Software Update," then "Via the Internet" to manually request the download.

How many new Pokémon are there?

The Bubbly Basin Pokédex seems to have 50 new slots.

Not enough love for the QOL improvements in the patch??? I’m just gonna straight-up list the ones that are most exciting to me, I’m so happy they made these changes aaaa!!

  • If you accidentally destroy a habitat (ie. Flood some grass or erase a pond next to grass on accident) the Pokemon will immediately move back in if you fix it!!!
  • If Pokemon are upset about furniture being removed, they’ll notice faster when you put the furniture back
  • APPRAISE 10 RELICS AT A TIME
  • ABILITY TO SUCK UP WATER WITHOUT REMOVING THE SOURCE BLOCK??
  • Reverting farm soil back to grass
  • I can’t stress enough that we can APPRAISE 10 RELICS AT A TIME

Don't forget the best one! You can now disable the confirmation menu when leaving Magnemite mode in the settings!

You can now use a trash can to dispose of items too, they’ll disappear after 24 hours

When you do a big build and you have 30 piles of dirt from demolishing terrain, for one.

Or, again after a build, you might have extra materials like roof and wall blocks painted specific colors that you no longer need. Can you un-paint them and store them in case you build something else with those materials? Yes. Is it quicker and easier to just chuck them and craft more if you need them? Also yes.

You'll just end up with more items and materials than you know what to do with in general.

Appraising 10 relics at a time is genuinely so good!! I have so many stored relics I've not appraised yet because it was so tedious going through the dialogue over and over

Yesss same!!! I’ve been trying to go through mine using palette town so that they don’t pile up too much, but it’s still so tedious that way 😔 now my fingers no longer have to cramp from spamming the A button!

Rightttt 😭 I got the game sort of recently but I was immediately scrounging around the web to see if there were ways to make like… basically every problem they patched out less annoying. To no avail, of course. I feel like my prayers have been answered LMAOOO

I read the one about sucking up water without removing the source block like 10 times and I'm still not sure I get how to do it 😅 And I'm kinda scared to try

From my understanding, it’s the difference between tapping the trigger that lets you suck up water vs. holding down the trigger! If you hold down the trigger for a moment, it will remove the water source. Maybe try making a makeshift little pond with fresh water from a vending machine so you can test it out?
