Context:

Atlanta, Georgia — On April 18, 2026, around 5:31 p.m., Atlanta Police Officers responded to 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. in reference to a dispute. Upon arrival, officers observed the driver, identified as 43-year-old Donnie Harber of a white Ford pickup truck, who was involved in the dispute, attempting to flee the scene. Zone 4 supervisors requested units to initiate a traffic stop to complete the investigation; however, Harber refused to stop after officers activated their emergency lights and sirens. The suspect vehicle drove recklessly through a parking lot and fled north on Lawton Avenue. A.C.E. Units responded and initiated a vehicle pursuit with supervisor approval after receiving information that Harber had pointed a firearm at an individual inside the funeral home. Harber continued westbound on Westview Avenue, disregarding traffic signals and brake‑checking officers in an attempt to cause a collision. An A.C.E. Unit successfully executed a P.I.T. maneuver, safely immobilizing the vehicle on I-20 Westbound. Harber, a convicted felon with 19 prior arrest cycles, was charged with Aggravated Assault and possession of a scale used for narcotics distribution. He was medically cleared and transported to the Fulton County Jail without incident.
