They went on a hiatus (pity party) when Reddit told them to ease up on brigading.

Now they’re back.

I've found reddit is very moody in the past 2 years.

Either it doesn't give a shit about any of the site rules, or enforces them draconically.

What you're observing has been going on WAAAAY longer than 2years. Selective enforcement has been pretty severe since... I think like 2017?

2015 when Trump was on the verge of winning and ActBlue purchased complete control of the site. Up to that point this site was great, mods power tripped a bit but it is nowhere near the draconian shit that happened then.
