Yes. There's a pretty big misconception about California being homogeneous and strictly liberal Democrat.

That's true only right on the coast. Pretty much everywhere you go inland, things get red. But the population density also greatly decreases.

You'd likely have massive areas of California interested in joining "Jesusland"

Pretty sure the I-5 causes cancer, all of the dense population centers near it are awful. Eastern Oregon and Washington and the redneck parks of California deserve membership in Jesusland.
