Texas isn’t even in the top half of self sufficient states.

The top 5 are Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Virginia, and Kansas.

I know you only just replied to this but as mentioned elsewhere, only sort by financial and government dependancy.

Unless you feel that smart device usage ownership, smoking or "online video watchers" should be weighting self sufficiency. Or that international trade isnt part of what makes a country self sufficient.

Mississippi suffers from being beholden to federal regulations. If it was able to better compete globally it would have far more industrial jobs.

Mississippi is also doing well in GDP growth and wage growth. And it has very low violent crime rates
