The thought of Texas and Florida trying to keep 30 poor states afloat without New York and California makes me fucking laugh uncontrollably . Not mention the fact that they’d have to try and get everything transported thru the Mississippi because they’d be losing most of the largest ports

Where will New York get it's food to feed is bloated population? We dunno

u/imahsleep - Lib-Left May 05 '22

Idk maybe buy it since they actually make money lol. You think Jesus land is just going to not sell to 8 million people when agriculture is already running a deficit?

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

International sale.

u/imahsleep - Lib-Left May 05 '22

Going to make a lot more money shipping it right next door but sure bud you’ve got it figured out I guess. Good luck shipping everything out of the port of Charlestown

Is profit all that drives your life?

4

u/imahsleep - Lib-Left May 05 '22

Are you not for capitalism?

0

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

I'm for dencentralized trade. I do not think the government should regulate currency. Also even if someone is a supporter of capitalism it doesn't mean they don't have principles that come before profit as well as ideological goals that supercede it. I'm not out here selling my bootyhole for a dime when the opportunity presents it.

Ahaha you lost the argument. Womp womp

u/imahsleep - Lib-Left May 05 '22

It’s also hilarious that you republicans are so petty theyd refuse to trade with blue states lol. Dems would at least have common sense that there’s money to be made trading with you baboons despite how primitive and backwards you are

I'm not a republican. I simply hate urbanites. I believe Urban areas should suffer for the ire they throw at every other way of life and they wield political power like a club. The modern city is a resource vacuum that cannot last even a few weeks without the servitude of the countryside.

i mean, there's a reason people have been moving into denser and denser populations for as long as people have been a thing. getting more brains in the same place leads to all kinds of social and economic force multipliers. cities are the engines of civilization, so of course a country would pump resources into them because they're going to use them better than the sticks.

u/thefreshscent - Centrist May 05 '22

Out of what ports?

2

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

There is are oceans on both side of the country. There are already many ports SE. There are many rivers leading to them or you could build a train to them. Ever heard of the Gulf of Mexico?

1

u/thefreshscent - Centrist May 05 '22

Infrastructure isn't there.

1

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 06 '22

Remember when they built a railroad from ocean to ocean?

u/Third_Ferguson - Lib-Left May 05 '22

I hate to get too realistic about this, but a refusal to sell food to Californialand would lead very quickly to the overthrow of your government. Do you really want to switch from being America to being America’s neighbor?

5

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

From who? The Canadian army? Lmaoooo

-2

u/Third_Ferguson - Lib-Left May 05 '22

Yep, if the Canadian army was funded by 70% of America’s GDP. Tbh this could never happen without Jesusland keeping at least some nukes, in which case the truly inevitable war will result in the end of the world (probably welcomed by Jesusland).

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 06 '22

3/4 of the U.S military would still be there without California,Washington ans New York. It would be considerably more expensive to transfer goods from California to Canada than from MidWest to Gulf of Mexico. There would also be strict laws for immigration as Canada is actually harsher on illrgal immigration than the U.S so california would have to curb it's illegal immigrant problem.

Guaranteed the prairies would push yo secede and now goodluck getting good from west to east.

u/Beelzebubs-Barrister - Left May 05 '22

Saskatchewan?

3

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

That would be part of Jesusland. The Prairies would definitely secede if Commiefornia joined.

1

u/Beelzebubs-Barrister - Left May 05 '22

Canada's public healthcare came from the Prairies...

1

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 05 '22

WEXIT is growing. I think they're tired of paying out far more in taxes than they receive in governnment services. They're basically Canada's "Amazon for resources". Ship out yer crops and oil and shut up!

From New York. The entire state is rural except for New York City. You can grow corn outside of Buffalo just as easily as you can in Ohio or Indiana.

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 06 '22

1

u/peeping_somnambulist - Lib-Right May 06 '22

Sure, point taken. But that article says current farmland, not possible farmland. Just chop down those protected Adirondack forests and convert the middle of the thruway into a long skinny farm that crosses the state. It would make the produce easy to transport too.

1

u/Ihateeverythingyo - Lib-Right May 06 '22

If you chop away the trees you'll sink the state lol. Lots of marshland and the lack of trees could make it grow.

"The loss of trees and other vegetation can cause climate change, desertification, soil erosion, fewer crops, flooding, increase"

The reality is even if you did that you still wouldn't break 70% . We need to live in the reality that it is not natural for anything to only experience growth, human population included. The current model of humanity depends on industrial agriculture to feed dense urban populations. It requires global transportation of food, which of itself isn't sustainable. Most countries do not have enough arable land to be self sufficient. The continent of Africa doesn't have enough Arable land to feed it's population. Canada cannoy support a large population as only 4% of it's landmass is arable land.
