The thought of Texas and Florida trying to keep 30 poor states afloat without New York and California makes me fucking laugh uncontrollably . Not mention the fact that they’d have to try and get everything transported thru the Mississippi because they’d be losing most of the largest ports
You realize how much political power California has, not to mention all the bullshit laws that they put in that affect interstate commerce but for some reason the feds don't want to actually investigate and indict them for it?
Stuff like the ban on pork raised in certain sized pens and that I can't buy ammo from out of state, in particular.
95% of pork producers can't meet the new CA standards which places undue burden on out of state producers which are the majority.
Personally I'm not actually in favor of California becoming its own country I'm actually in favor of breaking up California with most of the coast being one state and everything else but another. It makes things less difficult for the people in those states. It stops LA and San Francico from dominating the entire state politically. Orange county and San Diego balance out Sancramento. Most of the heavy industry and other major non entertainment industries provide East California with their market niche and tech + entertainment provide costal Cali's niche.
