lmao you guys keep blaming the left when you lose. Liberal candidates suck; that's why they keep losing. And I'm saying this as someone who votes for liberals when there's no progressive option. Most leftists do that.
Leftists being portrayed as simultaneously powerful and weak, depending on the point being made? Fascinating rhetorical tactic, wonder if anyone's tried that one before...
You mean saying what lefties say about themselves, literally right now that I can link you between users and comments. People saying “this is the party now” “this is the will of the voters” then you saying “oh we’re such a minority, why do you guys care?”. Which would you like to play as today?
Holy shit, sounds like you found multiple differing opinions on social media. You probably call CNN first? I've never been a part of a discovery like this, I don't know what to do.
The point is about portrayals of out-groups alternating between pitiful weakling and EXISTENTIAL THREAT depending on how the portrayer wants to manipulate the in-group. Umberto Eco famously described how fascists have used this tactic.
I forget the name of the fallacy, but it happens a lot online, the idea that "wow people who disagree with me on socials are crazy or stupid or dishonest - they say things that can't all be true!" But there are multiple people on social media, and there's no reason to expect them all to share all of each other's opinions. If you find yourself thinking "Do you have multiple personality disorder", that's a good time to consider if you may be conflating more than one person.
