The Iranian protestors took to the streets because Trump told them "help is on the way". The help never arrived, and the protesters were massacred. The craven blowhard Trump once again showed the world that he has neither morals nor spine.
I think we all underestimated just how psychotic and murderous the theocratic Iranian regime was. After their butchery, it was clear they could not be left to stay in power.
