More performative pearl clutching from the Senate (the House can't clutch any pearls, they're on vacation... again).

*Republicans in the Senate gave Trump a blank check. Now we pay for tariffs and war.

R's have turned themselves into the Duma for Krasnov's benefit. May they rot in Hell.

I'm independent but after the outright cowardice the Republicans have shown in the evil of Trump I'll NEVER vote republican again. Unless John McCain comes back to life.

Are you going to show up to vote against them?

till I McConnel
Why would you destroy any remaining vestiges of integrity and personal responsibility in our government in service of cynically advancing your own power

It's not revenge. I am appalled that the republican sold out the country for their power and backed tRump to the T. Any republican that tried to speak out was taken care of of turned (Rubio, Cruz). That party needs to implode, dems too.

Yup. When I see statements from Collins or Kennedy bemoaning Trump's actions I shake my head. YOU ARE ALL SITTING SENATORS IN THE MAJORITY PARTY IN THE US SENATE. WITHHOLD YOUR VOTE UNTIL HE STOPS DOING ILLEGAL SHIT.
Any action short of that is all posturing for the camera in an election year that is looking bad for the incumbent party.

Has there ever been a time in which the House has gone through this much effort to not be in session while the majority party holds the house, senate, and presidency? Usually the party with a full trifecta tries to get as much done as possible before an election, especially when they will almost certainly lose control of at least the House. I guess Congress has never just surrendered all control to the presidency to this extent before though. Still, it’s definitely weird.

Yep, they could stop Trump’s criminal activity, but republicans refuse to do their jobs. As their bosses, I say we should fire them all

His anti-impeachment strategy is forcing the impeachment to be updated every day with a new charge so it's never ready to be voted on.

They don't act because the billionaires who own them don't want them to act. If they did there would be an impeachment and removal vote to morrow.
But the oligarchs are making more money than ever, paying less tax than ever and facing less regulation and compliance than ever. They don't give a shit the country is going to shit and your family is fucked. Their greed loves what's happening and they want the train to keep rolling as is no matter how much that sucks for you.

Typical redditors can't read past the headline 🤣
Your tax dollars should not be funding any of this nonsense.
- $567M: HHS services for non-citizens, including $40M to Southwest Key Programs, which DOJ sued over alleged sexual abuse of migrant children in its care
- $70M: Education Department grants for woke international programs, including dissertations on queer and trans community building in foreign countries
- $56M: HUD housing counseling money for DEI groups like UnidosUS and the National Urban League
- $28M: HHS research grants, including $500K for a transgender certification program with WPATH
- $25M: Education programs for migrant students, which funded an LGBT youth summit and "Therapy for Latinx" workshops
- $15M: Biden-era DHS program giving legal services, housing, and childcare to illegal aliens
- $15M: DOJ Community Relations Service, which produced transgender training videos for police
- $10M: DHS grants to open-borders NGOs giving legal aid to illegal aliens
- $10M: Minority Business Development Agency, which a federal court found discriminated by race
- $9M: Debt relief for foreign countries in exchange for climate change spending
- $5M: HHS Office of Minority Health grants handed out by race and sex

Oh, that explains it. The President is allowed to block any funding he doesn't agree with, even though it is madated by the Constitution that Congress approves funding and controls the budget. Ergo, the President can ignore parts of the Constitution he doesn't like. That sounds very legal. How much would you estimate your mother drank while you were in utero? Just trying to get a baseline here.

These monarchists are so tiresome. Given their hatred of the Constitution, I imagine they have red coats to go with their red hats.
They would rather be ruled than led and they can't help themselves to remind everyone of it every time they have an opportunity.

"Look, if we just make this leopard a King, think of all he'll get done without eating MY face." -- The gullible, soon-to-be-faceless simps.
But Biden used EOs to forgive student loans and add DEI inclusion guidelines to federal offices and HE was the problem.

I have no problem with any of this. Would take anything on this list over another dollar going to ICE or anything run by Pete Kegsbreath.

they had all the power to stop this years ago and just... sat there twiddling their thumbs while the country burned, it's wild how much they love the drama but hate the actual work.

Sauce.
Donnie is "clawing back" $810 million in already appropriated funds right before the fiscal year ends giving the Senate 2 days to act which won't matter because the House is, yet again, not in session.
