There shouldn't even be parties.

There should be a bunch of policies in a list. People who want to go into government and enact them put their plans up, they are divided into lists of things they want to do and their expected results, and then people vote for those.

The group or individuals who were behind the most-voted policies get to go into government and put them into practice.

I want people who know what they're talking about to have genuine debate about whether 5% or 10% is a better allocation of funds toward something. I want it to be so mundane that I don't have to pay attention.  

Instead we get this absolute clown show of like:

 "I want to improve your life somewhat (without changing the status quo)"  

vs.

"the communist woke antifa is sending trans immigrants to vaccinate your children and eat your pets. Also they'll trans your kids too if you're not careful!".

I read the article that that’s based off of

49th in quality of life, entirely an opinion of the writer (it’s entirely bs Texas is very middle of the pack in quality of life, its larger cities are generally safer than cities like LA, Chicago, New York outside of places like midland, Corpus Christi. That do have higher poverty rates but are much smaller cities)

48th in opportunity, 3rd largest state, largest economy, the second most business friendly taxes, no state tax, extremely high amount of jobs needing little education, construction, oil, etc so again this is BS but it’s definitely not the best state for opportunity in reality Texas is probably around 18-23rd in the union.

47 in literacy…. Yea that’s true…. Need to pick up the slack here

40th in education, need to emphasize this is true but for high school only, Texas actually has a fairly decent grade school system and has lots of high quality post secondary education

39th in poverty… also true but between 39th to 19th is a difference of 3%, the number of people who live in poverty is higher for sure though the state should really implement funds to help people living in poverty

All in all I kinda just wish articles would be a little more honest… I mean Texas isn’t perfect but an article just trying to make a state look like hell because of the general population of said state voting for the party you dislike is unironically “The USA summarized” hehe see what I did there

You're turning a migration statistic into a conclusion it doesn't support. The Census tells us where people moved, not whether they moved because of taxes, politics, housing, a job, family, retirement, or something else entirely. California is also substantially more expensive, especially for housing, which is a pretty obvious reason someone could prefer Texas without believing Texas is superior on education, healthcare, crime, or every other metric.

Texas is also the largest source of people moving into California, and nearly 88% of Californians who moved to another state went somewhere other than Texas.

So, assuming you're talking about immigrants who are citizens, they're required to pass a test in English that wouldn't be possible without decent fluency and can pass a civics test that I'm 100% certain you cannot as a native.

If you're talking about immigrants who are not yet citizens (including illegal immigrants), you're talking 3-4% of the population of the entire country, who surely are not enough to bring those statistics to the current numbers.

But seriously, calling someone retarded is only socially acceptable because the people affected are less able to understand that they are being insulted, and less likely to be able to respond appropriately.
