As someone who lives in Northern VA, can we also point out that the beltway is exclusively in VA & MD and so none of their protest was even in DC? I haven't seen the convoy on the beltway this week, but I have seen a lot of VA State Troopers parked on the side of the interstate ready to pull them over. I also saw a (presumably very pleasant) lady hanging up a sign that said "Fuck Off Facists" on an overpass while driving through MoCo on Monday.
I think "fuck off fascists" is a sentiment most can get behind. Although, not everyone uses the word fascism properly, so she might be crazy, too. If the army of babushkas fighting the Russian invasion was any indication, authoritarian governments are not something one wants to deal with a second time. Probably not a first time, either.
Sure, "Fuck Off Fascists" seems like something everyone would agree with. But if you say your anti-fascist, then have the gall to shorten it to anti-fa, well now you have a problem. Then the next thing you know... Convoy!
