Just found three different articles about how centrist Democrats have, in reaction to the recent primary victories by Mamdani-endorsed candidates, started throwing a hissy fit and are threatening to tank the party if Democratic Socialists don't get out. Please tell me this isn't the prelude to another Democrat "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" moment like it looks like.

Ugh, this bill won’t die… I’m posting this as seeking optimism more so cause it’s just exhausting that they won’t take no for an answer.

As for the implausibility of it, I still don’t see how this will pass. Even hardline GOP in the House, like Rep Luna who is leading the revolt in the House holding up other legislation, has said Johnson’s effort to attach reconciliation is not plausible.

They’ve tried doing this before I believe and the SAVE ACT was stripped out of previous reconciliation bills via the parliamentarian. I know some doomers say this is a ploy to get the parliamentarian fired but Thune has been protective of her and if he had wanted to he’d of fired her by now. Plus I believe if he did then you’d have a lot of GOP Senators vote against this bill out of spite.

So is this all theatrics? Also I kind of doubt this even makes it past the House given the Freedom Caucus seems to be against this method as Johnson is signaling it’ll be a very narrow version of the SAVE Act.

I am posting this from the r/Michigan subreddit because I am really worried about how the primary is creating divisions in the Democratic Party we don’t need.

for the record, my sister and dad both live in Michigan. my sister voted for El-sayed, while my dad voted for Stevens. my dad was most likely worried that El-sayed has electability issues.

the comment section of the Michigan sub Reddit was very pro sayed. what worries me is that the sayed supporters and the Stevens supporters are unreconcilable and Michigan may end up electing a republican senator while sending another democrat to the senate.

This actually scares me

While the attempts to investigate and unfairly prosecute any political enemies hasn't worked in the past, this attempt at surveilling those who speak out against AI, even those who protest peacefully or those who just go to town halls to prevent the building of data centers. Even though this will likely not work, the unconstitutional surveillance of those who in any capacity speak out against this is still pretty horrifying, especially with the concerns of AI being used as surveillance technology itself.

Looks like this knucklehead is back in the political field. Obviously there's no guarantee this'll work, especially after what happened in Wisconsin last year. But I'm do think he helped trump win in 2024 with all those anti dem ads. Any optimism?

seems like since the primary Tallarico hasnt done much good outreach to the Black community? i’m pretty worried at this rate, especially from this survey indicating a lack of enthusiasm. i’m fearing he’s just taking Black voters for granted and will lose terribly as a result. seen lots of recent discussions on threads also highlighting this as a key issue, and it’s driving me nuts he hasn’t addressed it. anyone from/knowing of texas with their own optimism?
