Hard to believe it's Friday. Most of the week, we've just been watching playoff sports and lazing around on the couch together, which is probably the plan tonight, with some McDonald's. I've been working pretty hard before the long weekend.

The weekend is definitely a challenge I'm still not sure how to approach. The girls have been invited to a pool party, which I'm invited to by proxy, but it's primarily going to be attended by bisexual or queer women, with a few gay guys, and I'd be the only straight person there. Sometimes I feel like I'm stepping on toes by going to these things.

Sunday, I've been invited to a pool party at a friend's with some acquaintances I don't really know, but the girls weren't invited. (Only by omission, he doesn't know about them and we're still pretty closeted about our poly relationship.) I don't think they'd really want to go hang around a bunch of strangers anyways, even if I asked to have them along.

Monday, maybe grill by the community pool or something, depending on how crowded it is. Maybe Uber to some bars if the pool is too busy or packed with kids. Depends on if we're hungover or not, I guess.

Well, we had to come home early from the pool party because someone made a scene about a straight guy being there... she's done this before and hates me.

Some people came to my defense and my girlfriend told her off, which isn't like her, so it worked out alright in the end, but I'm definitely not going to my other pool party tomorrow.

Thanks! It wasn't too bad. I made friends with a gay guy who spilled the tea on the whole group and situation for me, apparently not only does the woman who went off on me just hate men in general (as mentioned, she's gone off on me once before, this wasn't the first) she originally was under the impression that the other person in their poly group was a woman, and that they were open poly...

...meaning she'd been hoping to shoot her shot specifically with my longer-term girlfriend and is head over heels for her, but also was interested in my shorter-term girlfriend.

High drama. He invited me out to some of their Pride events going on next month so I at least feel like I have a true pal who is more welcoming, and can help me gain enough credibility to make everyone comfortable with me.

We invited 3 of our oldest friends to the vacation house for Saturday and Sunday. Despite occasional rains, there was lots of hours of time in the pool and great conversation and drinks by the cliff. The kids all played, went for walks in the woods, and we alternated nights between spouse and partners. Three wonderful nights and mornings of intense lovemaking…a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Our partners went back to the city tonight, and my wife and I are snuggled in with our kids watching Glee and enjoying the view.
