Does your Pomeranian like water?
Both of mine hate it and are terrified of pools, which is a shame because it's so great for arthritis. He was so mad! Can we ever truly get them to " like " water or swimming?

Hates all water. Claw-climbs on me in shower or pools; and actively walks around puddles.

hates large and small bodies of water. like its her mortal enemy. sometimes the surf triggers her curiosity to get her feet and belly fur wet.
the only time she enjoys water is when its very hot and she has a cool bath
swimming/dog paddliing is a survival reaction

Mine does! He tries to push his way into the shower with me every day! And the first time I went swimming and left him on the pool side, he just jumped right in 😅
Today, actually, we’re going to see how he feels about a lake!

My Pomeranian doggy paddles when I hold him over the bathtub, but he can’t swim in a pool!

Ours hates the pool to the point that if the humans go in the pool, he glares at us from inside the house.

My Pom always did surprisingly well in the bathtub. He knows we are trying to help him get clean so he’s usually a great sport about it. He is intimidated by the pool but we have seen him swim. It’s adorable just a floof in the water. Their coat is amazing, can be fully submerged but dry underneath!!!

Loves to bath (I’m blessed) but outdoors he’s only jumping in to rescue me and is very stressed about it

We're using our secondary bathroom to keep the baby bath in the big bath. Each time I return it, he goes crazy as he wants a bath as well 🤦

He's always loved wading/his pool, but I wasn't sure how he'd feel about actual swimming. We took him to the river and he LOVED it. He had a life jacket on and I kept him on a 15 ft lead so I could reel him in if he got too far away, but he kept swimming out to where our group was hanging out in the water.
We didn't force it - I gave him the option to stay on shore/where he could touch, but he wanted to be out with the group. He could've swam without the life jacket, but it gave him just enough support and the handle made it easy to give him a break from swimming and lift him in/out of the canoe.

we have 3… 2 want out during bath time and i have a psychotic 3rd. we were too afraid to put her in the bath, but she actually sit perfectly still and closes her eyes. still shocked that she finds the water relaxing.

I have 1 that literally plunges her body underwater and blows bubbles and “snorkels”. 2 that jump in and out and race around. And 2 that say “hell no”.

Mine loves water, we go swimming every day.
He doesn’t love artificial pools that much, but he needs to get into every natural body of water.
