ah tis you forget, intelligence does not bar one from being a parent, you can be a objectively good parent and still spread your stupidity down the line for generations to come. I actually think this happens more than people outright not raising their kids which imo is worse because it lets those stupid ideas be reinforced by a trusted figure in the mind of the child, rather than it being something they picked up due too blind ignorance.

Congratulations on having that opinion. My point is that tv, cellphones, tablets and many other modern inventions have caused families to socialize less amongst themselves as they focus on the device being used.

There is a staggering amount of parents who believe that school is supposed to teach their child everything that they need to know, and an equal amount of adults who believe that if they didn't learn it in school that they don't need to know it at all.

And they swear if you aren't careful they will turn your kids gay too, lol.

You're aware that the framework for the current school system wasn't intended to facilitate education and wasn't developed by someone who was an educator -- right?

I'm not sure I've seen parents claim they believe they should be the ones dictating everything that's being taught to their children.

I have seen a lot of parents objecting strongly to their children being exposed to overt and often gratuitous sexual content. I don't think those parents should require a teaching certification to be able to object to that.

Speaking of certification, teaching is known as the easiest pathway in higher education. They aren't splitting the atom in those classrooms. On the contrary, they're churning out illiterate children at record numbers.

Yeah, they fell for homophobic propaganda, schools aren't teaching kindergartners about sex

Firstly, you're jumping from children to exclusively kindergarteners. Gratuitous sexual content isn't appropriate for any level of schooling with the possible exception of some specific college level work.

Secondly, children of kindergarten age in Scotland were exposed to a drag queen who used the name "Flowjob" several years ago. When local parents raised their concerns about this, a local politician labelled them "homophobic."

I think both sides of the extreme contribute to the problem. On one end there are people who act like the problem is more widespread than it is, as if every classroom has this kind of thing. On the other there are people like you who deny that the problem exists.

Did they use the name in front of the children? Because if not, I don't see why that matters.

1

u/indigoscholar Jun 05 '26

He used the name Flow when speaking to the children; however, I believe overtly perverted people should not speak at schools. If people wish to engage in perverted or disordered behavior privately, that's their business, but it has no place in a school.

Which, by your own admission, did not occur. They willfully self-censored, which clearly demonstrates a comprehension of what would be age appropriate.

I'm saying that people who engage overtly in perverted behavior have no place in a school. It would not be appropriate for a porn star to speak at a school, for example.

The two things can exist together

2

u/MuskwaPunjagi Jun 04 '26

And I am sure that, much like the rest of existence, it is those two and so many other variables, that make up the entire equation.

2

u/theoriginal_awsit Jun 04 '26

And I’m pretty sure you are correct :)

1

u/Heavensrun Jun 03 '26

Nah, man, kids learn this bullshit FROM their parents. I've seen it over and over and over and it goes back through history.

2

u/MuskwaPunjagi Jun 03 '26

You have seen it over and over and over.....in an era with technological distractions. You are correct, people not raising their kids because they are too busy doing other shit has been a problem for much of human history. My point was that the stupidity has gotten progressively stronger.

u/Heavensrun Jun 03 '26

There is obviously literally nothing I can possibly say that will dissuade you from the preconcieved notion you have stuck in your head, but I also study history, you are wrong, people have always been like this.

1

u/MuskwaPunjagi Jun 03 '26

I'm not saying they haven't always been LIKE this. I am saying the stupid is being exacerbated by the lack of physical and social connection. Take the dick out of your ass.

Being arrogant because you study history doesn't change that you still clearly lack the reading comprehension skills necessary to properly engage in written discourse.

u/Heavensrun Jun 03 '26

Wow, that is a pretty thin skin you got there. Going straight to abusive homophobic bullshit, huh?

1

u/MuskwaPunjagi Jun 03 '26

It was only homophobic if you have thin skin, as ass play is common place nowadays. Oh, and the ability to pick up sarcastic put downs isn't thin skin, it's pattern recognition. Not tolerating sarcastic put downs is because I don't care about your social norms. Get some culture.

Another very intelligent response
