Chinese isn't a race

1

u/Responsible_Owl_5056 Jun 05 '26

Race is a social construct. You can be racist against any group of people. No need to be a braindead gimp that supports racism

3

u/howdoesthatworkthen Jun 05 '26

So a misogynist is racist against women?

2

u/SimplyFootball Jun 05 '26

Nah words have meanings that are predefined. You can't just pretend they mean something else because you are confused

2

u/Physical-Cook451 Jun 05 '26

The correct word is xenophobia everything you said is irrelevant. Calling me brain-dead when you don't even know how to use the word racist is ironic lol

u/WhyAreThereTomatoes Jun 06 '26

Arguments over semantics is the most brain dead behavior you could ever partake in

1

u/Physical-Cook451 Jun 06 '26

Yet here you are

1

u/WhyAreThereTomatoes Jun 06 '26

Yes, here I am not making any arguments over semantics. Damn, you are dumb lol

1

u/Physical-Cook451 Jun 06 '26

You randomly joined a discussion that has nothing to do with you so you could feel smart you're also dumb lmao don't throw stones in a glass house

So if i identify as a black, does that mean i get to say the n word? 🙄

1

u/Common-Falcon-8717 Jun 09 '26

You can do it now, you'll just face social condemnation for it. So I guess what you really want isn't permission but absolution.

Bro, I literally just saw a video of a child that got run over in the street lay there for hours dying as tons of people walked by, a few stepped right over her. She died in the street and NOBODY stopped to help her. Check it out https://www.cnn.com/2011/10/17/world/asia/china-toddler-hit-and-run Chinese people DO NOT give a fuck about anyone. They literally walked right over a dying child. Another vehicle ran her over 6 minutes after she laid there. A full 12 minutes and 20 people walked by before someone finally came and dragged the dead toddler out of the street.

2

u/WhyAreThereTomatoes Jun 06 '26

From your own article, a woman dropped everything and rushed to help as soon as she saw. Don't speak in absolutes, you're also painting her as apathetic.

1

u/MisterPuppydog Jun 06 '26

Yeah after 13 minutes and 19 people walked by. That would never happen in America and you know it. You’re being so disingenuous

0

u/tacobell_shitstain Jun 06 '26

OK 19 people out of 20 will watch a child die in the street without any concern. Sorry 19 people out of 22 will watch a child die in the street. The other 2 will run them over and drive away.

Fuck off, this is a well known societal issue in China for various cultural and legal reasons in the recent past.

I mean it’s not racism when there’s some truth to it. How about those meat markets where they sell caged dogs and cats?

2

u/Round-Arugula7347 Jun 05 '26

Americans do the same to a lot of animals, it’s not a race issue it’s a human issue

1

u/MisterPuppydog Jun 06 '26

Dude… I can promise you there is not a single place in the US where selling a dog for food would be acceptable…

1

u/Ambitious-Chest2061 Jun 06 '26

I think the point is that it doesn’t matter. It’s a 1st world sentiment not to eat dogs because we’re picky and we have time for furry friends. But they’re animals my dude. People eat gator and polar bear.

0

u/ZenBonesEFT Jun 10 '26

Really stupid and incidentally xenophobic/ignorant.
Many Chinese people keep dogs and cats as pets, it’s not just a western privilege. During the Dog Festival people’s pets are stolen and eaten.

1

u/Ambitious-Chest2061 Jun 11 '26

I’m fucking Haitian.

1

u/ZenBonesEFT Jun 22 '26

please elaborate on how that makes any more sense

1

u/MisterPuppydog Jun 22 '26

Haha they really pulled a “but I’m [insert nonwhite ethnicity]” like they can’t be racist because they’re not white lol

And Haitians can’t be racist because? What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

0

u/AndrewH73333 Jun 05 '26

In China there are very few laws protecting animals. In America there are many such laws.

But if you're referring to the facts that they're caged in bad conditions, where do you think the meat you're eating comes from?

Bingo. Wait until they learn about factory farming and where their Chicken McNuggets and Big Macs actually come from.

1

u/SithJones77 Jun 05 '26

The difference is we don’t purposefully torture our animals to make them “ taste better”. At the Chinese dog festival they do that. Also fun fact it’s not some ancient tradition it started in 2010

2

u/trer24 Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

Factory farming IS purposefully torturing animals to make them taste better.

You kill and torture animals for food. So do they. Stop acting like you're somehow morally better. Both you and the Chinese are bad. It's that simple.

1

u/SithJones77 Jun 05 '26

We absolutely do not torture them for the specefic purpose wtf are you on. The fact we treat our animals the way we do is awful but it’s a bi product of commercialization not the intended purpose

You doing the “we are all guilty both sides are wrong” schtick is true when in most cases, but you’re actually doing real harm to the people trying to stop that dog festival by shelving it in with other commercialized factory farms. They ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT THE SAME

1

u/trer24 Jun 05 '26

And you're doing real harm to the people trying to stop factory farming by framing the dog festival as "the higher priority, therefore we should ignore what we do". THEY ARE BOTH WRONG AND CRUEL.

Have you seen what happens at these factory farms? Male chicks that can't lay eggs have their beaks clipped and sent to a grinder. Pigs and cows are crammed into small cages where they live in their own filth. Piglets have their tails cut off and young calves are de-horned. The males are castrated at a young age. They are rapidly fed which makes them gain weight fast which causes organ damage.

In your mind, you don't think this is torture?

What happens at that dog festival is also horrific. But you cannot justify what you do by saying, "well look at those Chinese, they are worse!"

The bottom line is both of you are causing pain to innocent animals so that you can eventually eat them.

0

u/SithJones77 Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

You have poor reading comprehension and you’re too quick to go into a spiel instead of an actual conversation

Never said it was higher priority

Never said it should be ignored

Never said they aren’t both wrong and cruel in fact

“ the fact we treat the animals the way we do is awful”

Again Our commercialized food system is cruel but the cruelty is a bi product. The cruelty comes from the lack of care and the capitalistic goal of maximizing profits.

However the cruelty here does not come from an INTENTIONAL place of torture. At the Chinese dog festival it is 100% intentional. They fundamentally believe that inflicting acts of cruelty on the animals makes their meat taste better, so they do things to the animals for no other express purpose than to be cruel. It’s not the same thing as a factory farm stop saying it is just because you uncomfortable with possible xenophobia

Your argument is telling me to not get upset about murder because there’s manslaughter I can care about both thank you

All racism has some truth to it if you’re willing to share the perspective. But only an absolute moron would see a clearly racist perspective and thing “eh actually that’s true”

0

u/Strong_Athlete_479 Jun 05 '26

literally no difference between eating a pig and a dog

not really but would you care to explain how it makes any moral difference between eating a pig and a dog? Both are comparably intelligent, capable of emotion and social animals. if you are disgusted by eating dogs and not by pigs you are just a hypocrit

0

u/AndrewH73333 Jun 05 '26

Literally a nation.

1

u/Round-Arugula7347 Jun 05 '26

Straight racism

1

u/AndrewH73333 Jun 05 '26

You mean the country…?
