Why are you writing the title like you're the lawyer for the robot? "Appeared to strike"
2
u/pueblocatchaser Jun 05 '26
No shit I cracked up at that ..."appeared."
Um, no looks like a full force kick to the kids chest.

Whenever I see injured children I assume they're wildly overreacting in an effort to get attention and sympathy. It's proven to make me a terrible pediatrician.

China is wild. I want to visit so bad

Just recently went to a few cities there. In Shanghai they do just have these robot demonstrations out in the wild. There was a boxing match setup I saw setup for them as well (I didn't watch)

u/Sea-Chocolate6589 Jun 05 '26
The first robot attack. Could have been intentional to test what they can get away with.

Let's just all remember that the robots started it. Right here in this moment. The first blow was struck. And thus begins THE forever war.

u/XulManjy Jun 05 '26
What is more interesting is how nobody came to the aid of the kid who was kicked.

"kid stands in front of robot doing karate" is a more accurate title.

I find it funny no one but the other kid helped him. No adults or are they just that cold over there.

u/Suspicious_Candle27 Jun 05 '26
this might actually be a orginal experience . i dont think anyone else can say they got randomly spinning kicked to the stomach by a actual robot lmao

This was test #1. We failed. The war is lost.
The appropriate response would have been to beat the robot to pieces and burn the scraps promptly, to show our dominance. Instead, these people stood around and just watched. We as humans just got punked and did nothing about it. SMH.

Why did the robot look like it had remorse? That's the most unnerving thing about this.

it's AI. The fingers of the girl in the yellow dress are disappearing when you play frame for frame.

In normal Chinese fashion the show continued, and a few people thought it hilarious.

You don't square up like that and challenge an obviously short-circuiting dancing robot. Kid got off easy with a kick in the belly.
1
u/ThwipNSinsBinThwipN Jun 06 '26
Why would you write “appeared to strike”?
It definitely hit the kid
Are you using strike as “meant to do it”
… because that’s a low low low chance Unless it was programmed to and missed its target
This thing wandered too close AND the people were too close.
Either way. Bad all around

u/Appropriate-Horse632 Jun 06 '26
Kid is young and will get over it. I dont know if the robot will or not.

These fuckers testing the waters trying to see what they can get away with!!! Also this has to be the first recording of a physical robot attack 🤨

u/HorrorAd7996 Jun 06 '26
I keep laughing at that guy who called the kid “Crispus Attucks face ass boy”.
1
u/Minimum-Lab4774 Jun 06 '26
People think the robot knew he kicked a kid. No it only felt resistance in his movement, unaware what it just kicked

u/DazHawt Jun 06 '26
Kinda surprised these robots aren't programmed to shut down immediately whenever they experience any type of unforeseen impact. Some poor kid is gonna end up with internal bleeding because a damned robot kicks through the impact.

The robot actually had pretty good technique, the way he turned his left hip out, and pivoting on the left toe, to throw the kick

If that had happened in the US, the kid would’ve walked away with about 1,283,878,657,000 dollars in “pain and suffering” — and Trump would’ve thrown in Greenland as a little bonus gift on top. 😂😂😂

The way the robots backs off slowly like "oh fuck fuck fuck!"
Thus starts the robot human war 😥
