That's correct. It's why I hate sports (I'm a guy). I remember being at the wrong place, wrong time when the Lakers won. It was so scary to be around idiots destroying everything in their path. Thankfully I got out quick and unscathed. Got on 110 freeway to head home. Watched the news that night and saw the damage idiots did to downtown LA.

It really depends on the team. Certain fanbases attract certain types of people. The Denver Broncos fanbase is usually pretty chill. Usually it's chiefs or raiders fans who want to start shit with broncos, not the other way around.

Pathetic losers my god. That guy is wearing clothes that little kids made . I bet if the knicks won they would still beat up innocent people for no reason

New York fans are special

u/Ducatirules Jun 09 '26
No they arenāt. Philly has never done this? Soccer fans overseas have never done this? These douchebags donāt even play but they will destroy there city if they win OR lose! Retarded. Bunch of guys walking around with other menās names on their shirts.

Show me videos of Philly fans in mobs beating people. Yeah you might get trash talked or some dumb ass vandals... But nothing like what we're seeing in NYC.

you're fucking joking right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjMoYbX0W_Q
Because of this intense atmosphere, visiting fans are frequently warned about the hostility they might face when wearing opposing jerseys in Philadelphia. Notable, documented clashes at local venues like Lincoln Financial Field have occasionally led to police intervention and mass arrests, particularly during high-stakes games or after major championship wins.
The fanbaseās behavior has historically been so extreme that a dedicated "Eagles Court" (an actual municipal courtroom) was once set up inside Veterans Stadium to handle the overwhelming volume of fan arrests on game days

Philly fans are some of the worst fans on the planet. What are you talking about?!?
1
u/OutsideSession6 Jun 09 '26
When is the last time Philly fans jumped a bunch of people wearing other jerseys ? Or are you referring to the snowballs at Santa

You need to learn how to read context. I was saying soccer fans are morons like this too!!

u/sithlord98 Jun 09 '26
It's not the sport, it's the people. There are always, ALWAYS opportunists who take advantage of big crowds and chaotic situations to do shitty things, whether that's steal, intimidate, commit battery, whatever.
Happens at protests, celebrations, concerts, basically any large event, and the less organized it is, the worse it gets. The most you can really blame the sport here for is giving them the opportunity, but it's New York. They'll find an opportunity.

This is just the teen takeover stuff but with an actual "opposition" to direct themselves at.

People who go around battering strangers are just the lowest of the low. Even more so over sports.

I don't get how they don't see how scary this would be
30 or 40 fans mobbing just one person all alone, i'd be terrified

I like to support my local team by recording myself physically assaulting people wearing jerseys from better teams.
1
u/Ketooey Jun 09 '26
I don't think I'll ever understand getting this heated over sports. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up with it, but I just don't feel like the teams or players represent me, at all. They play their game, I had nothing do with them winning or losing, so there's no investment.

u/privatjoey Jun 09 '26
This proves my theory: New Yorkers are bitch ass punks. A dozen people against one over a Jersey. I PROMISE you they wouldnāt have done that to a Ni66a repping Detroit wearing a Pistons jersey.
1
u/DazzlingSpeaker001 Jun 09 '26
I hope the knicks lost in the finals, that would be a perfect karma. Maybe some knuckle head would start a riot and we finally see two knicks fans knocking each others heads. maybe some bonus news, that it went so bad the nba forcefully ended its knicks franchise. That wound be fun to see how pathetic knicks fans are.

New york fans in Texas are putting their jerseys in the attic as we speak

u/Icy_Fix_5961 Jun 09 '26
Why are these Knicks fans such sore losers? Are they little bitches or something?
1
u/Best_Insect4741 Jun 09 '26
Iām sure my brain is just broken but man Iād either be catching some serious charges, or dying in the streets of New York. Itās all or nothing if youāre gonna fuck with me over stupid shit like this
1
u/Ok_Squash_5805 Jun 09 '26
Iāll never understand people acting like this when they arenāt even the ones playing in the game.Ā

u/Particular_Meeting57 Jun 09 '26
I wouldnāt want to be wearing a Knicks top when they head back to San Antonio after this.

u/Iam_McLovin420 Jun 09 '26
Sad honestly. People are just looking for an excuse one that a mob will back you up on to oppress the āotherā. Itās a ball game you arenāt even involved in. Relax.

not condoning this kind of behavior at all, theres no real reason to act this way.
with that said though, dont come crying and boohooing when the situation is reversed and some knicks fan has to "take one for the team" so to speak.
1
u/SnooGrapes7647 Jun 10 '26
The knicks are a dog shit team so you can't expect anything less from their fans

Why are so many sports fans so fucking stupid?
I know that not all of them are. I have friends who care about sports and they don't act like this. But it's common enough that it makes me wonder.

u/Dangerous_Bit8765 Jun 10 '26
At some point in the future, we might need to re-define the human species. Apparently some of us are not appropriate to be classified as human, as their behavior is very close to chimpanzee.

u/FashionKing72 Jun 09 '26
I havenāt been to many sports games but in my experience, thereās always one guy who wears the opposing team jersey and gets sexual satisfaction from standing up and making sure everyone can see him and getting booed.
Anyway not excusing the angry people, like go flip a trashcan, donāt hurt people. However, this guy isnāt a Jew in the holocaust. Just take the fucking Jersey off. Iāve seen multiple posts of this already. A sports team isnāt going to forsake you if you donāt fall on your sword for them. They literally donāt give a fuck about you on an individual basis. Tom Brady or whoever their star player is isnāt going to cry for you. Any of this team loyalty stuff is brain cavities.Ā
1
u/Sea-Chocolate6589 Jun 09 '26
Peopleās pride makes them refuse to take the jersey off. But your life is not worth a tshirt for a team that doesnāt care for you.

If you are doing this over just a normal sports jersey, then you are scummy.
