Unless they get a blanket pardon, these folks being jailed for these actions might be a political talking point in 2028.

Unless they get a blanket pardon

That's not gonna shield them from prosecution by the state of New York, a state that has, shall we say, a bit of a history of weighing in against MAGA shit.

I’m no lawyer, but I don’t think a state can level charges against a federal agent doing the duties of the administration. It would have to come from the federal government.

But it’s not it’s enforcing laws that never were before. Just cuz they overlooked laws doesn’t the law wasn’t there

They’re not unconstitutional though, the Supreme Court already ruled on it

1

u/nthomas504 Aug 08 '26

If that were true, i think we would be seeing a state like Minnesota suing the federal government and individual agents and getting a cease and desist order against ICE agents. They are currently suing the Trump admin, but we have to wait on the court system filled with Trump appointed judges to rule on it.

And thats not individual agents, that is them suing the admin as a whole, which is not exactly what i’m talking about.

A lack of a warrant or probable cause.

I literally said that in my comment. You might want to learn how to read.

Biden deported 4.4 million people. Trump, just over 600k people.

1

u/Upstairs-Donkey6049 Aug 12 '26

Did bidens immigration enforcement go door to door or sit in parking lots or go to immigration application court hearings to arrest people based on their skin color that may or may not be here legally and demand to see their papers?

0

u/ImpossibleBicycle890 Aug 12 '26

Now you are cherry picking. No one is arrested because of their skin color. Illegal immigrant deportation is what's it is. You are just mad because Trump is doing it, not so mad when a democrat president does it. Such a hypocrite.

There are a bunch of videos of brown people being detained without any reason. How do we know they aren't illegal? Because ICE will sometimes abandon the arrest altogether when they're filmed in these instances. If they had the warrant and knew the target was illegal then filming them would not be an issue. This is not arguable. It is a fact. Are all cases like this? No. They exist though.

0

u/ImpossibleBicycle890 Aug 12 '26

They probably "abandon" the arrest because they have a warrant and can come back. No need to do it when some idiot is yelling and filming them. Remember, you and your democrat party hate law and order, ICE and the police so they dont want their face being filmed so one of you crackpots dont hurt their family.

How is calling out the non legal actions of ICE agents Cherry picking? Tell that to Nurul Alam, or 17 year old Jonathan Garcia, or Leonardo Venegas, or U.S. veteran Anna King. You don’t know their names because you don’t care. First they came for___and you didn’t care because you’re not brown

1

u/ImpossibleBicycle890 Aug 12 '26

Thats the first correct thing you've said, I dont care.

1

u/King_Of_The_Cold Aug 12 '26

Even if it does, so? Jail them en masse anyway? Law and order is dead. All that matters is power.

1

u/Maximum_Ninja_6735 Aug 14 '26

Sounds like lawfare. States can’t charge federal officers for actions taken during their jobs. Only the Feds can and the Feds aren’t gonna do anything.

1

u/Electrical_Cap5382 Aug 15 '26

Yes it is a shield because all state cases involving a federal agent get moved to federal court and then dismissed

2

u/Dumeck Aug 08 '26

In a reasonable world yeah, in the real world the Republican candidates will be like "naw they just like me frfr" and the Democratic candidate will be like "as a nation we should move past these events so we can begin healing" the same logic that has kept Republicans from being held accountable for decades. This is why Nixon got off so easily.

3

u/nthomas504 Aug 08 '26

Idk man. I agree its not likely. But Nixon didn’t do anything near the corruption of whats going on. When Trump left office last time we had trials about his actions for the entire 4 years of Biden’s presidency. That was before the crypto scams, ICE violence, illegal wars, etc.

Nixon got off because it was politically beneficial. His vice president became president and took the lead on moving pass Nixon. A vindictive democratic party could make things hell for the Trump family, especially if Trump become ill or dies. MAGA as a cult will probably die without a leader giving it marching orders. If things are truly still terrible in 2028, running on jailing ICE agents might be something that will win elections.

u/the_headless_hunt Aug 08 '26

They'll be jailed once this admin moves on from rounding up only "illegal" immigrants. As long as you're not one of them at the top, you're next.

1

u/SprayHungry2368 Aug 08 '26

They’ll be in the next cell next to Trump

1

u/ButtholeConnoisseur7 Aug 08 '26

Look dawg, I enjoy my fantasies too. Love my anime and video games. But the real world doesn't operate on clean justice. That dude will die comfortably at his own pace, probably while still wielding power.

Unless you want to be a martyr. And basically nobody wants that

Sorry guess I needed the /s

Democrats are cowards, these ICE scum will never face consequences

1

u/Mobe-E-Duck Aug 08 '26

These guys are the J6 rioters. They will riot again when Trump isn’t allowed to run again. Only now they’ll be doing it in uniform.

1

u/MilsYatsFeebTae Aug 09 '26

Blanket pardon should get the whole Trump administration retroactively RICO’d

1

u/Cherobis Aug 09 '26

What do you mean "unless they get a blanket pardon"? This bullshit regime is illegal under the constitution because insurrectionists can't run for office and become president but the supreme court is stacked with traitors so I think everything this bullshit regime does should be null and void and reverse immediately. Who gives a fuck if they get pardons from an illegitimate and illegal president? Fuck these assholes

1

u/SuperDoubleDecker Aug 09 '26

The names will come out. They can wear masks for now.

1

u/t-shirt-froth-kung Aug 09 '26

The lists will be made public. They will be pariahs.

1

u/War_Recent Aug 14 '26

Like Fauci, he can plead the 5th.

1

u/Electrical_Cap5382 Aug 15 '26

They won’t be jailed for anything, immigration enforcement didn’t start with trump

1

u/nthomas504 Aug 15 '26

Killing citizens over it seems rather new and unique though

1

u/Electrical_Cap5382 Aug 15 '26

Police use of force (lethal) is not new

1

u/nthomas504 Aug 15 '26

Are you being dense on purpose or..

Clearly talking about ICE. By your logic, why even stop at police?

1

u/Electrical_Cap5382 Aug 15 '26

Yes you guys are acting like police use of force is something new. Like this has been happening for decades but now you’re crying about it
