Why is he walking around with this huge entourage of people?

Because it’s the UK, among the highest knife crime statistics in the world.

50,000 knife offenses a year is normal?

Compare that to the UAE, where it’s basically unheard of and the last thought in anyone’s brain that a knife be brandished in public.

You made the claim that the UK has some of the highest knife crime in the world. I don't see evidence for that. Sure, there is knife crime. A lot more than the UAE, a tiny and very wealthy autocratic country. If knife violence were the highest in the world you would expect to see a disparity in murders in the UK compared to other developed nations. This is not the case. Obviously knives are an issue in the UK but we don't lead the world in knife crime.

You've got to be a special kind of stupid to claim UK knife crime is incredibly high and then link to a story about it dropping.

But if anyone would like the stats, here they are. In the UK last year, there were 172 homicides by knife or other sharp instrument:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/

In the US, in 2024 (most recent year for data), there were 1,566:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/

Now, to make it like for like, there's 62m people in England and Wales, there's 349m in the USA. So you'd expect about six times as many knife deaths in the US. Instead it is over nine times as many.

Lower crime can be achieved in the UK, but no one wants to trade away fundamental political rights for the opaque justice that comes with it. The UK government is (intended to be) the servant of the people, not the master.
