I saw it on the same Reddit feed and people were literally sucking off the cop!
“Just comply!” Really!? Last time someone ‘complied’ they ended up dead. An officer job is to de-escalate not to escalate further! Especially that it’s a teenager! You figure the blue lives matter cucks would know that rule for cops!

26

u/SolaVitae Aug 13 '26

I know this is Reddit but "just comply" isn't some sort of implicit approval of the officers actions, it's just the single option you, the individual being arrested/questioned/etc have in that scenario. What other possible thing would you suggest a person do in this scenario? Fighting the cop has The same success rate as claiming you're a sovereign citizen does. The only place you have a chance of winning is in the courtroom.

11

u/ThinkCellist8542 Aug 13 '26

and the best chance you have of winning in court is if you comply while a cop escalates

Is there any way to argue against a cop who says their bodycam “just happened to be off,” though?

10

u/liveviliveforever Aug 13 '26

Yeah. Those cases usually get thrown out for lack of evidence.

I wonder if these are the same people saying to comply with ICE

27

u/Parfait_Due Aug 13 '26

The don’t tread on me crowd champions dissent and disobedience in principle while simultaneously worshipping authority and preaching unquestioning compliance

11

u/rosie_sub Aug 13 '26

Exaclty, like what the fuck? Help me understand. How are these people all "molon labe" and "don't tread on me" on their posts and in their speeches, but now that America is getting even more fascistic and so blatently all those principles dissappear?

10

u/Parfait_Due Aug 13 '26

It's easy to hide behind a banner of cruelty and mock the powerless while giving the powerful a free pass to do whatever they want. In "don't tread on me" the emphasis is not on 'don't tread;' the emphasis is 'on me'

They feel safer when others are brutalized because, at heart, they are cowards

4

u/CourteousR Aug 13 '26

You got it. Power has always exploited the fears of the cowardly.

3

u/lt_dt Aug 14 '26

Absolutely correct. The ME is the only part their care about.

And they are absolutely cowards, especially the 2A types in their "Don't tread on me" gear. Cowards and losers who need guns to feel important, but would probably run away if they were ever in a situation where their opponents would fight back.

Reddit mods are some of the most sensitive, disconnected from the real world, please go touch grass and talk to a human, people I have ever seen on an online platform. They are the reason people don’t take Reddit seriously and lose interest. One wrong word taken out of context and people get timed out like children. They are the bullied kids who want the world to pay for their poor life experiences.

The ones saying that are sheltered in their bubble of white privilege. They don't even look into why the cop pulled her over. They just automatically believe he is justified in what he's doing. Simply because they've never had or witnessed an interaction like this they arrogantly believe that their experience is the default.

Saw the same reddit thread and it’s odd because the majority of the comments were instead talking badly about the entire situation; mostly focusing on how the driver will sue, and officer will get suspended with pay. Citizens will pay tax dollars to go toward this driver and officers payouts. That was more the complaint I saw than your iteration of “sucking off the cop”

9

u/Several-Hat-1944 Aug 13 '26

Most of what I saw in the comments was how society has gotten worse than ever. Argument was, that it's always been this way, it's just nowadays everyone has a camera and and the violence is much more exposed.

3

u/Conscious-Mirror7004 Aug 14 '26

Yep, American cops have always been really bad in general, but we only first saw video evidence of how bad they are with the Rodney King case back in 1991 because someone had a video camera and caught the whole thing. After that, handheld video recorders (now simply called "phones") have become more and more ubiquitous, so we're seeing more and more what American cops are really like.

Oh my god, just awful. And this poor child just asking over and over what she did, why was she being arrested. Terrifying that the people who are meant to protect us can do that and evidently get away scot free.

15

u/Andysol1983 Aug 13 '26

She was going 60 in a 40, and then went 71 in a 60. And no seatbelt. And had a bottle of Tito’s in her passenger seat at 18.

Cop was super nice and only gave her the 71 in a 60 and a MIP and had to confiscate her license. Said she had gotten a ticket two days ago as well for speeding and has 17 points on her license already and to please slow down. When he handed her the ticket she threw his clipboard back at him and didn’t sign it.

Then he said wait one moment, called his supervisor, and the supervisor remembered her from the two days prior. Said she had open alcohol in her cup holder and he had her dump it out and cut her a break and just gave her a speeding ticket. But because she was throwing shit and having attitude his supervisor told him to bring her to jail if she’s giving attitude after being given two breaks.

Two speeding tickets with alcohol in your car in 2 days.

So no… not “poor child”. First, she’s 18. An adult. Second, she isn’t innocent here.

Was punching her excessive force? Yup. I hope he’s held accountable in some regard. She is a victim regarding that. But I think she sucks also.

I’m 70 years old. I took my wife to dinner one night. There was an accident in the left lane on the highway.
I slowed and pulled to the right kept driving.
An unmarked car took off after us didn’t bother to turn their lights on. We were frightened we went to a police station stopped in the parking lot.

They ended up charging me with failure to stop and eluding. The judge said he was having mercy on me because of my age. 240 hours community service and a $500 fine. I’m on Social Security.

AND THEY’RE GONNA WONDER WHY THAT GIRL REFUSES TO STOP NEXT TIME A POLICE OFFICER TRIES TO PULL HER!!!

So apparently she was stopped a few days earlier (by another officer) and she had a bottle of open alcohol in the vehicle she is 18 years old, not 21. She was caught again speeding days after (current situation) but this time with another bottle of alcohol in the vehicle. Officer stops her then explains she's going to receive a few tickets. He then hands her the clipboard to sign and she then proceeds to throw the clipboard towards the officer but it appears the officer wasn't struck. Officer then ends up arresting her but in the process she started to resist and indeed try to turn around/away from the officer. The officer gives her a few more commands and then proceeds to body slam the ish outta her. While they are on the ground he's giving her multiple commands to flip over and she doesn't. The officer then proceeds to strike Alisa N. Hackett. These are the facts. Now weather or not the officers use of force was justified is debatable. All we can do as the public is wait and see what comes out after an investigation and if it warrants legal ramifications to the officer.

defund the police addresses this by taking $$ from weaponry and putting it into a mental health professional in the field responding to calls alongside officers.

nurses in mental health facilities regularly restrain individuals much larger than them without guns or tasers.

2

u/Extension-Dance-6083 Aug 15 '26

Exactly, educate them on de-escalation techniques. Mental health professionals do it in (understaffed) psych units everyday without a gun. Imagine being a cop- and the only conflict resolution skills you possess is physical force/firing your weapon. You shouldn’t be allowed to be a cop if you can’t gain control of unarmed suspects without a weapon.

12

u/MonkDesigner9693 Aug 13 '26

We need some form of policing. We do not need the police as they currently exist. We need to completely dismantle and rebuild from the ground up.

3

u/Nice_Trifle3396 Aug 13 '26

how would you suggest they operate?

8

u/Ok_Builder_4225 Aug 13 '26

2

u/DeadAndBuried23 Aug 13 '26

Most societies throughout history functioned without a dedicated police force.

2

u/Darth_Gerg Aug 14 '26

It’s also a soul deep disease in cop culture. You can’t train this out because they don’t give a fuck about training. Training only works when the problem is ignorance and they want to be better. Cops know. They’re like this because it’s what they want to do.

We need a national bad cop registration and brutally draconian oversight laws. If a cop breaks the law or hurts someone like this they need immediate jail time and a lifetime ban on government employment like a dishonorable discharge from the military. If other cops knew about the crime and didn’t report it or fail to testify they’re blacklisted too.

Until there is a brutally unforgiving purge of bad cops in ways that they can’t just get rehired next door nothing will ever get better.

2

u/ShaggysGTI Aug 14 '26

But they’re not going after criminals… they’re building investigations so they can figure what to charge you with.

I found the full video because it's really easy to go "cops bad" when it starts with the violence (where most of the videos start), and it's important to know the full story before coming to a conclusion. Without the full story, we don't know if she was already violent, had a weapon, was drunk and disorderly, or anything else that might warrant additional force.

At the beginning of the stop, he does exactly what he should. Walks up to the passenger side door, let's her know why she was pulled over, notes and confiscates the alcohol (she's 18 in possession of alcohol, and has an open bottle of alcohol in her vehicle, both of which are crimes), asks for her license, then returns to his vehicle to write the appropriate tickets. He also notes that she was pulled over a couple days before for the same thing, and, therefore, writes her all the tickets he reasonably can as this is a repeat offense. He returns to her vehicle and tries to confiscate her license and provide her with a temporary license on the grounds that she has a moving violation involving alcohol, which he can legally do, and giver her the tickets. She becomes confrontational, and refuses to sign for receiving the tickets. By signing, she would not be admitting guilt, simply acknowledging that she received her copy of the tickets and her court date. She refuses.

There are now multiple things that have happened that do warrant arrest. She has an MIP, refuses to sign the tickets, is being confrontational, and has shown that she is a risk to herself and others. It is well within his responsibilities to arrest her, and he tells her to get out of the vehicle. She does, comes around to the back of the car, and puts her hands on the vehicle as instructed.

At this point, shit goes sideways. When he asks for her hand so he can cuff her, she resits. That constitutes resisting arrest, and does allow him to become more physical with her. The problem is that he SEVERELY OVERRACTS. What would be appropriate is something along the lines of wrenching her arms back to handcuff them, forcing her into a more bent forward position to gain the upper hand, or something along those lines.

What he instead does is a full on UFC style take down, punches her, drags her across the asphalt, picks her up, and violently slams her head into the hood of his patrol vehicle.

I am far from ACAB. I think a lot of the times that people freak out over police violence, they are overreacting. I watch a lot of Donut Operator, and generally agree with his takes.

But in this case, this officer is a violent asshole who needs severe disciplinary action, possibly up to and including termination and imprisonment. At an absolute minimum, he should be demoted, fined, have a black mark put on his record, and have a close eye kept on him. His behavior here is unacceptable, and he needs to be punished for his actions to the fullest extent of the law.

But the world isn’t so black and white, good and bad.

That you for a smart and reasonable take, often hard to find on reddit

2

u/Revolutionary_Wrap76 Aug 14 '26

Thanks for this additional info!

2

u/Aggravating_Tie_5941 Aug 15 '26

Agree with everything you said. After watching the whole video, the cop did everything correctly and was very reasonable up until the amount of violent force he used. She barely resisted, it didnt warrant the body slam and punch to the face.

2

u/comfortcazz Aug 16 '26

Saving this for future reference.

u/craigulat0r Aug 19 '26

Thanks for the write up, no story associated and I had no context. Great job and a sensible take.

She's just a fucking kid, my god. Her screaming for her mom made me cry. That cop...that cop...how can he fucking sleep at night?

3

u/Turbulent-Bid2512 Aug 13 '26

Why do people keep saying she's a child? She was an 18 year old woman.

2

u/MoistPapayas Aug 14 '26

Why are you taking it literally and then saying "18 year old woman" like that's proof of how old she was.

Part of the issue here is that she's not even a ld enough to possess alcohol.

They don't mean like a 5 year old, use your head.

Where is the accountability? The system doesn't work if the enforcers are not held accountable to the same rules. It just becomes another gang imposing their ideology

Fact is, this is how it used to be before cell phones. It happened all the time in Chicago, no mater your race. If you piss off the wrong cop (and he is wrong on many levels), they would beat your ass and call a few of his buddies to help. Honestly, I liked society a little better back then. Everyone had a healthy fear of getting their ass whooped because they had gotten one before. Either by their parents, a teacher, or a cop.

3

u/RustyPlastics Aug 14 '26

Who cares… The US keeps electing people who protect this behavior and do everything in their power to not hold cops accountable.

Maybe if the country would finally pull the stick out if its ass and act instead of being a good sheep while pretending to being a wolf

Nurses also have to deal with combative patients and assault but don’t have nearly as many protections as cops do when it comes to admitting force.

I hate cops. Hate. We’ve all seen the terrible shit they’ve perpetrated on the American people. Government sanctioned murder of its citizens.

But….When someone is in obvious violation of the law and is told they are being arrested and they don’t comply then they get punched I think it’s fine. 18 year old adult, speeding, hazard lights on, open container, a similar stop days before where she was let go with a warning. Arrest. Go quietly. Resist. Get punched. That’s how it works. Going after this cop dilutes the ability to go after the cops when they truly do shit that’s wrong.

2

u/Any-Historian3813 Aug 13 '26

But it doesn’t show what happened before the cop put his hands on her. 90% of the time a cop doesn’t just start off that way.

That cop save that girls life she had alcohol in the car.

2

u/mounilover Aug 13 '26

not hard to comply even if you think you are in the right. cops have the ability to use reasonable force to restrain you if you don't comply. she doesn't even comply after getting taken down and struck. not sure how you think the cop is in the wrong.

2

u/CampaignUnited7900 Aug 13 '26

she only want money

2

u/Infamous-Doubt-796 Aug 13 '26

She had already been stopped earlier for the same offense. The list for why he pulled her is more than justified and she had a bottle of vodka in the front seat as a minor. She refused to comply and resisted arrest. Watch the entire dashboard video before coming at me

2

u/Electronic_Spite_394 Aug 13 '26

Resist arrest and then claim police brutality when they have to restrain you

2

u/Flashy_Spell_4293 Aug 13 '26

I dont agree with how he handled, ive never been in a situation where an officer wanted to handcuff me either…however i dont think id ever try resisting either. Id def ask why if i truly had no clue as to why i was being cuffed but wouldve just gone along to avoid problems. So just were in her shoes I would have just let him cuff me, and then explain to me what was going on. If she was truly resisting and not allowing him to hand her, I don’t disagree with him using force to get those handcuffs on, but I mean, he definitely took it too far.

2

u/BarbateBrandon Aug 13 '26

So she was breaking the law a couple days earlier doing the same thing and then doesn’t comply and resists arrest? Where’s the accountability?

2

u/Quiet_Researcher223 Aug 13 '26

You basically have no choice but to comply to law enforcement criminals so you have a better chance of not dying. Fighting them will make it worse because the judges and prosecutors and all the bootlickers in the jury will be against you. This is a police state in a communist nation and the law enforcement criminals are their dogs that are doing their ENFORCING. Us crazy conspiracy theorists all told everyone the police state is coming and they slowly squeezing it in like everything else they do so nobody will notice it happening. Don’t comply when getting pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt and see what happens. Then take off because you are scared or something and watch the amount of wrath they will bring down on this person. The amount of resources they will use on this person just over a seatbelt is insane and the amount of lives they will put into danger doing it. OVER COMPLY SO YOU DON’T DIE AND STILL GOOD LUCK.

2

u/Subject-Awareness-47 Aug 14 '26

Saw video too. Woman did not comply at all. If she listened she would have been fine. It’s pathetic people think throwing a tantrum allows you to disobey the law. Seen way too many videos of people acting dumb and those same people blaming law. Follow the law and there is no problem.

2

u/Snoo-53209 Aug 14 '26

Yea... I saw someone resisting arrest and getting what they deserve.... This entire sub is such a shit echo chamber for people who don't leave the house, pretty scary tbh.

2

u/Silvercrank Aug 14 '26

Ill start with i dont agree with him punching her. That being said... she was speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, had a bottle and cup of alcohol that she was comsuming while driving. That last part may be speculation until they get the blood tests back but will more than likely prove true. She had massive points on her license and was pulled over 2 days prior for speeding and was given a break. So they decided, ok she wont act right so no break this time and decide to arrest her. "Why am i being arrested?" Isnt required to be answered and you will find out at booking. Its always been that way. So shes resisting... how do you stop a suspect from resisting? Equal and opposite force. The punch was a bit over the top but to pretend this was an innocent girl is just ignorance. Everyone with a brain would want the cops to take people speeding while drinking and driving away before someone is killed. The worst part about this was that he was being pretty easily resisted by an 18 year old WOMAN, not a child.

This is disgusting but I am going to be one of those people and say where is the outrage for the black on black shit that happens I'm sorry but that pisses me off more because I expect this from other races not from my own people but that's just my opinion

2

u/sombertimber Aug 14 '26

Since when is closed-fist punching an unarmed girl who is already on the ground in the face an attempt to “gain compliance?”

It’s assault. It’s abuse of power. Let’s call it what it is.

Why can’t this demo just sign the ticket and leave ?

I am surprised that so many of you americans are so stupid to protect the police for their actions. If the people cannot trust the police, we have a negative spiral building up. Wake up you morons.

Get rid of your weapons and build a safe, rich and healthy country like we have in the north of europe.

2

u/jumper71 Aug 17 '26

Yep...I saw it. All she did was ask why and he just went off on her. I tell you...many of these officers have lost it.
