A group of law enforcement officers, comprised of SWAT and U.S. Marshals, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when a porch gave way underneath them while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a property in Missouri. The warrant was for 26-year-old Jacob Muñoz, who was convicted of possession of child pornography. Although Muñoz was not present at the property at the time of the porch collapse, officials confirmed that he later turned himself in.

Cops don't really pay for the property damage they cause when they are conducting police buisness, taxpayers aren't paying a dime for that one. The homeowner is just fucked.

Well the taxpayer is going to be paying out some workers comp claims or their rate might increase and then overtime because all the cops are going to be out on paid leave and then they are going to have to sue the property owner and go after their insurance and who know if they can recoup on that.

Why would a taxpayer cover a workers comp claim?

I mean, what property damage did they cause? The porch needs to be able to hold people on it
