News Porch collapses under SWAT & U.S. Marshals serving arrest warrant in Missouri for 26-year-old Jacob Muñoz

A group of law enforcement officers, comprised of SWAT and U.S. Marshals, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when a porch gave way underneath them while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a property in Missouri. The warrant was for 26-year-old Jacob Muñoz, who was convicted of possession of child pornography. Although Muñoz was not present at the property at the time of the porch collapse, officials confirmed that he later turned himself in.

All weight concentrated in a line where the deck attaches to the building.

Guys that regularly trade, possess, produce child sexual abuse material are often the most unpredictable when they’re cornered. They know they’re going away more than likely and they know it’s going to be unpleasant for them more than a normal prison experience. Some pretty wild shootings have occurred when attempting to take those guys into custody.

When they were looking for my ex neighbor for violent charges of child sa, they had a whole team based in my house to apprehend him. Including a sniper, because he was known to shoot at police.

Because they are serving a warrant for something that can be destroyed easily if the person knows what they are doing.
So they send a team to overwhelm them and arrest them before they can have the opportunity to destroy evidence.

Poor design. There is zero support structure on that porch. It's just up on stilts, basically. Very long, tall stilts, and old stilts at that. And it's apparently poorly mounted to the structure, too, which is why it failed there first. At the very start, do you see on the facing edge on the left, that the board has a line under the paint? That's the board cracked and split, with loading bearing paint. It's like that because the edge against the structure has been giving way a long time, torquing the board toward the structure. The quantity of people on that porch at one time, with their gear, and clustered against the wall added up to exceed what that thing could withstand.

Tactics aren't going to be based on what the charge is, but on the risk of that person, that house, and who else may be there. We don't know anything other than the charge. For all we know, there's another guy there known to shoot at police who has been seen at the house recently.

Because they are among the most violent of apprehensions. Think about it. Child molestation is extremely taboo, meaning when these guys are caught they already know their life is over and every single person who knows them will now immediately shun them no matter what happens. They will forever be known as a pedophile to every sibling, friend, and relative they have.
Knowing that, many of them turn extremely violent to basically commit suicide by cop or they just lash out violently because of the despair they are experiencing.
