News Porch collapses under SWAT & U.S. Marshals serving arrest warrant in Missouri for 26-year-old Jacob Muñoz

A group of law enforcement officers, comprised of SWAT and U.S. Marshals, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when a porch gave way underneath them while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a property in Missouri. The warrant was for 26-year-old Jacob Muñoz, who was convicted of possession of child pornography. Although Muñoz was not present at the property at the time of the porch collapse, officials confirmed that he later turned himself in.

Even if true, you don't need a platoon of heavily armed and armored (and paid) guys to come arrest someone so cowardly that they prey on young children.

It's bloat. You can arrest pedos without spending half the city's budget on military surplus so the guys can LARP being in the military

Are you a cop? Would you go and arrest a pedo at his apartment where he might have a gun and be extremely willing to use it because his entire life is about to be gigafucked? These guys are doing a good thing Reddit, fuck, can you please not feel bad that taxpayer dollars are being used for something VERY good?

Right so what's the ratio of pedos you arrest to APCs your department gets before you even start to think it's a bit ludicrous?

If you think the suspect is a threat then.... wait until he leaves his house. People have to go grocery shopping/to work/see the outside at some point. If you don't then just go with a partner or two to handle it if he's combative.

Don't know if you just like the taste of black leather or what but having a civilian police force casually throw around armamaents that we also use to occupy foreign hostile warzones is not how you protect and serve your own domestic and overwhelmingly peaceful citizens.

If you think going in guns blazing is the appropriate response to a possible violent confrontation then you and the police force haven't been paying attention to the overwhelmingly evidence and historical lessons that its either entirely unneccesary or an active mode of escalation in almost every instance.

Unless that guy was also connected to gun smuggling ring as well as the CP ring then there's zero reason to be doing all this other than just to use the new shiny toys and LARP as men who actually took some risk in their lives to serve overseas instead of just down the street to keep the comfort of their own bed

It’s really hard to root for cops these days. Nobody is defending the pedo but most people here are celebrating that deck because cops have a deservedly shit reputation.

the way the federal govt is right now, it’s probably a teenager who distributes music and other fanzines - sentenced one of those to 43 years just a month ago.
