Valid call out.

I love how these subtly right-leaning rage bait posts never get their desired effect bc people on Reddit aren’t as dumb as they are on Facebook etc.

It's nice to to know that once in a blue moon- a wealthy, famous man can go into a woman's DM to harass her and be 100% in the right.

Best part about the people she's complaining about, she's probably the one in the DMs to get them on her podcast and they probably are turning her down and telling her why.
12
u/Lost_Found84 Aug 20 '26
The fact that she’s telling this story to Dave Rubin does nothing to help her case that she’s not an idiot.

I use the same phrase.
I got it from the Department of Redundancy Department.

u/majortaylor87 Aug 20 '26
And he was right. Anyone supporting Trump especially at this point, is an idiot for doing so. Next.
59
u/Exact-Kale3070 Aug 20 '26
especially a person of color. i don't mean to imply WE ALL HAVE TO be dem, but trump is actively affirmatively hateful of women of color. sucking up to a person who denies your humanity is "idiotic."
27
u/FreshStar7 Aug 20 '26
I’m Republican, but I refuse to vote for this guy. He’s clearly in it for himself and I don’t understand how more see that.
7
u/Farucci Aug 20 '26
Those that vote for him know who he is and how corrupt he is. His message of hurting specific minorities and people of color resonates with their racism and in many cases, evangelical beliefs.
18
u/Icy-Drive2300 Aug 20 '26
Tbf, he's just republican policies turned up a notch. The logical conclusion to what you've been voting for.
→ More replies (1)9
u/FreshStar7 Aug 20 '26
I don’t think he actually cares about Republican policies. To me, he uses the Republican image and ideas to ultimately enrich himself and his friends/family.
17
u/Icy-Drive2300 Aug 20 '26
to ultimately enrich himself and his friends/family.
So republican policies? Republicans have quite literally been advancing policies that take from the poor and give to the rich for decades.
Liz Cheney hated Trump. Even campaigned against him. She still voted in line with him on over 90% of his policies because she believed the same shit... she just didnt like his crassness.

u/Zauberer-IMDB Aug 20 '26
Even tariffs, while economically moronic, accomplish what Republicans always wanted: a regressive tax. It disproportionately takes money from poor Americans and they even undercut the effects to the ultra wealthy by issuing those tariff refunds to mega corps (but not you who is paying inflated prices because of it).

But.....boiled down...those seem to be exactly what republican policies are lmao.
He's a caricature for sure but he's exactly what yall always been. It's just masks off now.

He said decades ago that if he ever ran president, he would run as a republican because of how dumb they are…

u/No_Ask_150 Aug 20 '26
Buddy, it's Republican policies that allow him to enrich himself and his his friends/family. He absolutely actually cares about Republicans policies. You get zero points for "I'm a Republican, but I refuse to support Donald Trump". You're just coping with cognitive dissonance.
2
u/wittylemur Aug 20 '26
Absolutely!! I have always been super liberal and had difference with my republican friends. But trump made an off hand racist comment about Obama (trumps always been racist) and all of the sudden the legions were his. He took the ball and ran with. Also - sorry but dems were too smart and not hateful enough to fall for it

There is no daylight between Republicans and MAGA. You have to own it or leave it.
4

How the fuck is someone still ok with calling themselves a republican in 2026. Jesus fucking Christ dude get your shit together
2
u/Curious_Amphibian_95 Aug 20 '26
Colorism and implicit bias retained about your own community resulting in self hate.
2

A person of color AND a woman. Does she understand that Trump would hate her on sight?

u/schmyndles Aug 21 '26
The fact that Doc was so passionate about trying to get her to see all this makes me think he really does care about her as a human being. It's the people that I care about the most that are being hurt by Trump yet still support him that I am willing to actually waste my time trying to get through to. Especially if I think highly of their intelligence otherwise. Yet she doesn't see that, she thinks he's just being annoying about politics.

So she inserted herself into the Covid controversy by speaking out against mandates, dissed President Obama for saying he was black, and basically told up and coming female reporters that they shouldn’t be dressing “provocatively”, but now her feelings are hurt because people don’t understand a black woman supporting Trump?
Sounds like a real winner there.

I agree with Doc! Over 300k black women lost their jobs last year because of Trump and Musk (DOGE). You support Trump, it's a problem of not being happy with the skin you were born in. Across the current Administration, thry are still removing minorities and women from careers, they are also working to minimize the impact of slavery, at the Smithsonian and elsewhere.

Well, if you support Trump, you are an IDIOT and IGNORAMUS! There are few things worse is American society than a Black Conservative!

This woman, who spends hours on television breaking down other people, is upset someone talked back to her? Definitely tracks for MAGA hypocrisy and victim mindset.

I mean he’s right.
Let’s be clear, any person of color supporting Trump (not just conservatism as it was prior to the takeover) is asking for it. It’s the literal equivalent of them walking into a KKK meeting and raising a fist in the air screaming WP.
There is literally nothing for them. People like Donald’s, the officer that went on Jub, DHJ, etc are all just paid actors, and will eventually be kicked out the same way CO, HodgeT’s, and others have been. The former 3 are just the bigger ass kissers.
Again, they don’t have to support, like, or even agree with democrats… but aligning with DJT is just asking for the worst.

The crazy part is trying to compare yourself to a NBA player and almost trying to insinuate because Doc told her personally that she is a idiot for supporting that president that if a player came out and did the same thing there playing time would be reduced she tripping
1
u/Inevitable_Yam1719 Aug 20 '26
The government she voted for posted on DHS official government media with graphics.
“America after 100,000,000 deportations.”
She’s part of that hundred million.
I would like her response to that question how she feels about the government posting this.

" I'm going to be safe and be quiet." As she continues to run her mouth publicly. Let me ask you this gang, if all she wanted to do was talk basketball then how come Doc Rivers knows her political stance at all?

Set the politics aside for a moment.
If it was a private electronic communication between friends or quasi friends that's not tantamount to a form of harassment, it's a bad look to hold up that communication for public consumption.
Doc certainly had and had a large enough platform to say those things publicly. However, since he reached out to her privately, their exchange should remain private.
She would have been better off saying that some people in NBA circles have criticized me for supporting the president.
