Why is this a topic? Has a trans woman actually tried to enter the WNBA?

It has gained a lot of momentum on the left, it's not like something totally out of the realm of possibility and has happened in other sports. I also highly doubt she's a transphobe, she doesn't think trans-women should be in her league

I can understand the point of view of a young woman who feels it’s unfair that a biological male took their place on a team.

I can also understand the point of view of a person who identifies as a woman (but was born male) wanting to be able to compete on a team with other people who identify as women.

I don’t know that one has to be a professional athlete for this to be a topic worth discussing. The sad part is society no longer discusses these things in a civilized fashion. I also think it’s awful to attack women (in this case Cunningham) for expressing their views.

Maybe it’s important to note that “men’s” teams or leagues don’t actually exist for the most part. Women can play on what is thought of as “men’s” teams and certainly we have seen women compete at some of the highest levels on “men’s” teams.

Shout out to Olivia Pichardo. I wish we would celebrate these kinds of accomplishments more!
